Gay Pride
Gay and lesbian students feel comfortable here and interact with all A&T students. All students are accepted here, and your sexual preference may have little to no effect on friendships and associations. There is an on-campus organization called PROUD, which is geared toward gay and LGBT students. Those who identify themselves as "straight" or non-homosexual are also welcomed to join PROUD, and are referred to as "allies."
Political Activity
NC A&T students are encouraged through voting rallies to voice their opinions and make their votes count, and students are able to vote on campus at the Dudley building during political elections. Alicia Keys visited NC A&T on October 26, 2012, to rally voters for the second presidential election of Barack Obama.
Economic Status
More than 90 percent of students receive financial aid here.
Most Common Religions
Christianity is the most popular, and there are several campus ministries groups that students can join. Non-denominational Christian services are held on campus every Sunday during the fall and spring semesters. Also, "Aggies 4 Christ" is a very interactive religious group on campus, among others.
Minority Clubs on Campus
The Multicultural Student Center was established to unify all students and embrace their different backgrounds and cultures. The center regularly hosts events, programs and international fairs. There are several other groups on campus, including the African Aggies.
