School Slang
Aggie: The NC A&T mascot and what A&T students call themselves. The name comes from the University's agricultural foundation.
Traditions
  • The A&T Four Sit-In Celebration: Every year, the University celebrates the February 1, 1960, civil rights sit-in movement sparked by four A&T students.
  • Greek Probates: Each Greek organization presents its new members to the student body.
  • Gym Jams: Popular school-sponsored parties
  • Homecoming: This is a very popular event for current students, their friends and family, and A&T alumni. Events associated with homecoming include a parade, concert, and, of course, football game.
Favorite Things To Do
Intramural sports like basketball and flag football are very popular in the fall and spring. Students also like to go to on-campus events, like seminars or programs featuring music, fashion, and culture. Some favorite on-campus activities include athletic events, cookouts, Gym Jams, Halloween parties, International Food Night, Greek probates, fashion shows, and plays shown in Harrison auditorium.
