Greek life on NC A&T's campus is prominent and growing by the year. All nine members of the National-Pan Hellenic Council (collectively called the "Divine Nine") are represented at A&T, as well as community service and social fraternities and sororities. These various organizations host community service events, which are open to students, participate in step shows and stroll-offs, host many informative programs for students and the community, and even occasionally throw host parties at local clubs in the downtown Greensboro area. In the spring, there are probates, which are ceremonial showcases in which the new members are debuted to the student body. Each Greek letter organization has a plot, or a designated section on the west end of campus for members of their organization only. Those who are not members of these organizations are not allowed to sit, stand or walk on these plots unless a member of the organization invites you onto it, or if the Office of Greek Life declares the plots to be "open" during Homecoming. However, only a select few are involved in this aspect of college life. If you are not a member of any of these Greek letter organizations, you will not feel left out. Greeks play a role in the social aspect of A&T, but you can still have an active social life without participating in a Greek organization. Even though all of the fraternities and sororities perform community service within Greensboro, many non-Greek students say there is a lack of peer-to-peer service and communication on campus. Overall, though, Greeks at A&T are respected by most of the student body.
