There is always something to do every weekend at North Carolina A&T and in Greensboro. Gym Jams, the popular parties held on campus, occur about three or four times throughout the year. Throughout the year, some of the Greek organizations may throw parties, specifically during the beginning of the fall semester and when the weather warms up during the spring. The most popular events are the All-Black Affair (during the fall semester) and the All-White Affair (during the Spring semester). For those who would rather party off-campus, there are occasionally house parties in neighborhoods around campus, which are inhabited by mostly college students. Campus Green is a popular location for most house parties. Most of the time, house parties are crowded and hot, but they are usually fun and you get to meet a lot of people. There are also "kickbacks," which are relaxed gatherings that happen around campus. At times, the house parties and kickbacks can be a little rowdy. For those that prefer nightclubs, there is a wide range of venues to choose from. Most of the nightclubs are located in the downtown Greensboro area, which is very convenient for students without their own transportation. Some clubs provide a shuttle service to those without transportation. These shuttles usually go to Bennett College for Women and the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. Most of these venues are "18 and up," but there are also a few venues for the "21 and up" crowd. College Night usually occurs on Thursday nights, when students may be able to party at discounted rates with a college ID. There are rarely fights or shootings at any of the nightclubs, but it is still ideal to go out with a group of friends as a safety precaution. If you love the nightlife scene, Greensboro and North Carolina A&T are great places where it blossoms.
