The school have a number of different centers for computer usage. There are even departments that have their own library which can come in hand during finals. Most people have their own electronic device but if you forget yours the school have resources available for your usage. The internet speed is fair for a public place.

There are a large population of the majority students here. However, you can see the difference of international students. There are many programs at the school that speaks for diversity and try to get members to work together to make a difference on campus.

There are not many visible drugs at the NC State. There aren't even many students or faculty members who you see smoking.

Caution: Humanities students beware. I have found that there are actually some good professors in the humanities department, but the engineering program rules the school. I don't think this humanities program challenges you like other schools do. Be prepared for strange looks when you tell people you are in the humanities. People say all the time "well, you're at a tech school" or "this is the school for the kids who are good at math and science," which can really sting if you're not. Also be prepared to attend class with the kids who are the least motivated and interested in learning.

There are some really old facilities on campus.

There was nothing available for White middle class students.

I feel safe on campus.

At North Carolina State in the Animal Science department it is very hands on. It is great, we get to go out and see things in life. The only bad thing is that the work load can be a bit overwhelming. I can't remember a day where I didn't have to look over my notes once, even on holidays.

There are several little houses around the school. But they are often very hard to find. I have not looked much into it either, but from friend's experiences it is a bit frustrating finding a decent place that is close to school and has a decent price tag.

The Wolfline bus line offers a convenient method of travel around campus, and the GoPass that is given to students for free allows transit on the Triangle Transit and CAT systems!

NC State's campus almost always feels safe, and there are lots of events going on no matter what you're interested in.

NC State has a lot of great activities going on everyday. There are many clubs on campus so that everyone can be a part of student life. They offer free yoga classes to students and faculty which is something I go to every day. The football games are very intense and enjoyable. Everyone is very friendly here. The library is large and has many different settings. There is a quiet room for just studying and there are rooms where people can relax, play video games, or watch television. Dorm life can be frustrating but it is a great way to meet new people. I love my school very much!

It is extremely difficult to find a parking spot on campus, and you have to have a parking permit almost everywhere on campus, the campus police are very good at finding un-permitted cars and you will get a $25-$50 ticket. There isn't much need for a car, however, unless you need to leave campus often.

The dining hall food is usually pretty average, not anything special or fantastic. There aren't a whole lot of on campus late-night options for food, there are small convenience stores around campus that are usually open late, but they are pretty over-priced. The Atrium has the best food, but it does not have a lot of vegetarian or vegan options.

I chose NCSU because its among the top 10 universities for Industrial Engineering. The campus is huge and the professors are very knowledgeable and experienced. They always use real life examples to teach a concept which gave a better understanding of the concept and its applications in the real world. The lectures are also recorded and put up on the internet for our viewing which i think is an excellent feature provided by NCSU.

I am a Graduate student pursuing my Masters in Industrial Engineering at North Carolina State University. North Carolina State University is among the top 10 universities in the USA for Industrial Engineering. I got to experience that ever since i started attending classes this fall semester. The courses are very interesting and are industry oriented which particularly interests me. The workload is evenly divided throughout the program which gives enough time to concentrate on the topics of our interest.North Carolina State University also has a Co-op program whick will allow me to get some industry experience prior to me graduating from the university. NCSU is also highly ranked owing to the numerous job opportunities it generates through organising job fairs on campus.

You can't beat the weather in North Carolina. Only the pollen in the spring and occasional strings of rainy days (not a good combo with bricks) bring this grade to an A-. I run outside year-round and enjoy pick up games of Ultimate Frisbee throughout the school year (sometimes with some extra layers). You get all 4 seasons here. Northerners beware: NC State often cancels classes with less than 2 inches of snow cover.

The housing at State is a disaster overall. The methodology that they use to pair people is sub par to say the least. Just because people go to bed at the same time does not mean they are compatible. Furthermore, University Housing favors students that are more like the "typical" college student, i.e. drinkers and partiers who are inconsiderate. They also lie concerning different halls, maintaining that all halls are essentially alike in terms of quiet. This is very untrue. There are definitely "party halls" and "study halls," and you need to know where to go if you are going to be happy. There will be some people who will tell you that you should go to a certain hall and that it will be quiet because "ROTC members and student athletes live there." Right, the two groups that have the worst reputation for raising hell when there is no one there to look. There is a lot of pandering, and you need to live where YOU will be appreciated for why you are in college.

If you are discreet, you can get away with things like underage drinking. Most of the time, as long as you are quiet, no fuss will be made.
College Senior 2013-08-31T17:32:06Z
I think everybody at State is pretty accepting. There are many diversity functions and activities to participate in.

There are plenty computer labs that any student can access at almost any time. There are also computers located in libraries and other spots that are available to students that allow printing and copying.

I don't really use the campus computers or printers often. On occasion I'll print something. And the wireless internet works fine for me.
