There are a variety of restaurants around the campus. Most are pretty expansive but you can find a few that are worth it. There are plenty of dining opportunities both on campus and near campus

I am only a freshman in college but from my experience the campus parking police are some of the harshest. My roommate has already received seven parking tickets in only her first semester.

It really depends on your specific major, but for my particular major, Paper Science and Engineering, I was heavily recruited. I was contacted my administrators and invited to events to explore the program and different opportunities exclusive to the paper industry. I understand that for different majors within the College of Engineering there is heavy competition to get into certain programs and certain requirements have to be met.

There are lots of really good restaurants just across the street from campus.

Love the athletics here at State. The Carmichael facility is great and the IM leagues are well run. Plus the Varsity teams are great to watch. You can sign up to play just about anything as well.

The police force on campus does their job well, just don't make dumb decisions like drinking or smoking in your room and things like that. If you're careful about things then you should be fine and they'll leave you alone.

If I had to pick again, I would do the exact same thing. I have had a great experience studying applied math so far, and I am sure it will only become more exciting and rewarding in the future.

I am an applied math major, and so far it has been a great experience. I enjoy my professors and have gotten to know some of them through office hours or meetings. They are both knowledgeable and approachable, both if you need help or a favor. The small size of the college provides a tight-knit feel within the big school that I really appreciate. I hope to stay in contact with my teachers in the future.

I have found a distinct difference even in just my first semester at NC State between the passion of the professors. They love what they teach and they do their best to inspire their students to do the same. I know my professors got through to me, which helped me stay more interested in their classes and ultimately get better grades.

I think that there is a sufficient number of options for off-campus dining. Hillsburough Street is full of wings, pizza, and chinese places that are great and convenient for college students. Those who prefer to make their own food or like more organic options can always go shopping at one of the multiple nearby shopping malls, which include stores such as Whole Foods and Harris Teeter.

There are very nice machines in the gym. The pool is in great condition too. Campus events and traditions are very popular and always organized well. Student hangout spots, like the brickyard, are in good condition. Some bricks could be replaced. The library has many nice macbook's which are very popular for students to use.
College Junior 2012-12-19T23:46:38Z
There is no policy enforcement from what I have seen. The drug and alcohol use is not completely visible, but obvious that some students are using. Peer pressure is only caused by friends, no one else.

There are many nice facilities, especially in the gym. There are so many opportunities to join clubs and there are so many different ones! The social scene is also very good, a lot of students seem to know each other from high school but not all of them.

The Carmichael Gym is full of so many opportunities to get involved physically. There is many types of exercise classes that will fit every person. The libraries on campus are amazing. They have places to get food, coffee, ice cream, study spots, and a wide variety of books. The traditions on campus are amazing. There is a book called the Brick that they give you with all the traditions on campus.

There are so many good places to eat off campus. Hillsborough Street is full of many different types of restaurants including sushi spots, mexican, chinese, and so many other types of cuisine.

I honestly don't know much about the night life. After a club meeting I'm a regular on Skype and Netflix.

My school has a lot of ways for struggling students to get free help. There are tutors, SI, tutoring lab, and of course the office hours of the professor. You always have some help available to you, and your advisers also help you out as much as they can. There are many clubs, and sometimes its hard to choose just a few, and many of them help the community in some way as well. Another great thing is that joining the right clubs will keep you updated on information like scholarships, internships, and up coming events.

I have not had an internship but I plan on having one soon. I do not have very many concerns in finding an internship because I am only a freshman and am currently interviewing for an internship this upcoming summer. I have worked and am currently working for Vector Marketing.

Receiving admission into the Poole College of Mangement at NC State was relatively difficult this year. The admissions representatives wanted to see GPA's of 4.0 or better. They were also wanted to see a variety of extra-curricular activities and see evidence for leadership potential. The application process was very efficient and simple. Make sure you have a wide variety of extra-curriculars, and competitive GPA, and a relatively high SAT or ACT score. Try to get a 1700 or better if you take the SAT.

I feel very accomplished and well privileged to be apart of the Poole College of Management at NC State. I enjoy the program so far because I have built many relationships and being apart of the college of management at NCSU allows me to affiliate myself with a wide variety of job and internship opportunities.
College Sophomore 2012-12-15T06:23:03Z
I have only completed one semester at NC State but so far I am satisfied with the program. I had great professors in my classes this fall and learned alot of information in a wide variety of subject areas. I also had very helpful and instructional professors who wanted students to do well in their classes. I attended the career fair this semester and was very impressed with NC State's connection to a wide variety of successful companies both domestically and internationally.
Currently, I plan on going into some type of business that will have a large impact on of the lives of others. I enjoy helping other people and want to use my knowledge and skills to give back to my community. I believe I will accomplish this goal through starting a non-profit organization, owning my own business, or through some sort of sales.
I have some concern that I may have trouble finding a job in my field.

With a variety of computer labs all over campus, there is nothing to complain about at NCSU. Residence halls have lounges with computers, divided evenly between Macs and PCs, just like the library on north campus. DH Hill is as innovative and modern as any library can get and once you get to the learning commons, you realize how many options you have. Not only do we have desktops, you can also rent out iPads, Macs, and laptops for a limited amount of time to get some quick projects done, or even to simply check your email.

I haven't had any run ins with anything illegal, which says a lot about the strictness of the school. If you get caught underage drinking, which many people do, you'll have to take several alcohol education classes as well as paying fines. The police are super strict about everything, but it helps to make the school safer than many others.

It is now November and winter coats aren't seen. Compared to states up North, the weather here is fabulous. It is never blistering hot and never frostbite cold. People are always seen outside on hammocks during the warmer months and in the winter, the cold is nothing gloves and a scarf can't battle.

Most of the restaurants that are off campus are close to school, mainly located on hillsborough street. You have anything from fancy restaurants to fast food places. Many sponsor school events, therefore there are coupons given out regularly. The cost is fit to a college students budget and truthfully available whenever you want. Located in front of NCSU on hillsborough Street are two very neat coffee houses that people should definitely check out! Perfect for a date or just to have some quiet while studying.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
