Health & Safety:
We get alerts of crimes happening just off campus.

There are house parties and on campus events that happen frequently, but the true nightlife of NCSU and Raleigh happens downtown for those who are over 21. The bars are diverse and interesting, with taxis as well as a bus line running to and from downtown (this bus is infrequent and difficult to catch).

Everyone loves the Wolfpack here. The student sections are always packed during home games, especially for football and basketball. Since I came to NCSU, athletics has become increasingly competitive within the ACC and nationally as well.

They have added a ton of buses since I went here as an undergrad. So, there have greatly expanded the number of buses and also new paths. Sometimes it can be tricky to catch the night buses.

Some are new some are old. My room was not really that clean when I got it and I had to clean it. That does not seem to be the norm though.

Most programs here you just need to meet the GPA requirements and the course requirements if your transferring. For BME you must have a paper application to the department as well. Thats what messed me up I got the duedate mixed up and am now having to matriculate either this spring or in the fall into the program.
College Junior 2012-10-28T16:24:42Z
I plan on having an internship. The BME department has a newsletter and has sent out information about many internships. All were paid summer internships.

The courses for my major are rigorous and serious. The professors and TA's are very helpful and want for us to learn and succeed. I am enjoying my classes very much. I feel like my time here is going to help me to become a very successful biomedical engineer.

It is nice there are things to do. There's not as much to do as there is in Charlotte, where I am from, but that was expected. Overall I'd say it is a very nice environment, people are nice and friendly and you can always find something to do on a friday or saturday night.

There really arent any drugs being used on campus.

As an Animal Science Industry major, I have had the opportunity to work very hands on with animals in my labs. This major is not a pathway for Vet School but still gave me the animal interactions I wanted. The business classes required for this major are applicable for any student going to work for any kind of business. I do wish less advance science classes were required. With a full schedule I am not given the opportunity to take as many communications, PR, or English classes that I would like. I am hoping to go into a career of animal related publications.

We have a very diverse student body, ranging from anywhere around the world.

It's not hard to find a student apartment. The closer to campus you are the more expensive, but on average apartments aren't too costly.

I'm currently in the Master's program in the Communication department. The faculty is excellent. My professors are interesting, experienced, and available. I feel like the whole department has a strong relationship.

There are some beautiful parts on campus, but there are also some embarrassing parts of campus. The construction going on is temporary and I'm sure the resulting new building will look excellent.

NC State has lots of extra resources to help students that are struggling. All of my graduate school professors are excellent.
College Junior 2012-10-02T02:51:11Z
They have a bus system that is very convenient to get around campus and has multiple stops .

I believe NCSU is actually very diverse both in economic, religious, academic, sexual mix. It seems very accepting of all despite its location in the south.
College Junior 2012-10-02T02:41:11Z
Lots of team support and opportunities for all to be involved as much or as little as you would like and different sports for each level of abilities.

It is an easy, but good program. You learn the most about teaching by actually observing and being inside an actual school. The education classes are less helpful.

Buses run all the time, but they can get really crowded. Especially if you have to go to Centennial, where they reduced the number of buses that go there forcing more students on to fewer buses.

Most students have their own computers that they bring if they tend to need them on campus. There are labs, and usually there are computers free. There are printers in most buildings that students can print to. The network is usually good, though it has been down a couple times this semester.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
