Pretty Good – Frats throw some pretty good parties, but they definitely have room to improve. There is some fun stuff to do downtown as well and hanging out in the dorms can be fun too.

Pretty good variety of foods offered at the dining halls. Usually eat at Clark.

Not Too Sure – Alcohol is a problem off campus but on campus, rules are enforced. I try not to involve myself personally in crowds that use alcohol or drugs illegaly- so it's hard to provide a full assessment

Overall, not pleased with price or quality of off-capus dining facilities. At least, places within walking distance. NCSU students are offered discounts but off-campus dining still can be pretty pricey.

Raleigh, NC – NCSU offers many activities for students to get engaged on campus. And the city of Raleigh offers plenty to do as well

Being a school with 90% in state students and 10% out of state, there is no diversity. The school is very religious, and I'm not. Coming from the north it is difficult to meet people who are like you. Just like Northerners have stereotypes about the South, Southerners have stereotypes about the North. If you come here, just be prepared for a quiet nightlife and meet a lot of in state students.

Not so great – I'm an out of state freshman, and nightlife is terrible. Theres usually nothing going on besides small frat parties. It may be better if you know a lot of people from high school going here, but if you don't know anyone nightlife is definitely lacking. If you are looking for a school with good night life, I'll save you the trouble of going here and being disappointed.

Guys & Girls:
If you are coming out of state, be prepared for a lot of in state kids. There is no diversity and "Northerners" are viewed as outcasts. If you're looking for good nightlife, this is NOT the school you want to go to. If you don't know that many people here, odds are you won't like it here. I'm transferring mid-year; and other Northerners don't like it here as well.

Campus Is in Between – There are some strict rules when it comes to underage drinking and there is no drugs allowed in the dorms or you will be expelled. For the most part, they are very chill when it comes to our social lives.

There is a lot of diversity at North Carolina State University. Although it is considered a agriculture, there is a wide variety of people with different views and we get along great.

Drinking Is Bigger – Drinking is way more popular at NC State. A good portion of people are into smoking weed, but you do not have to if you do not want to. Don't worry about drug deals or anything sketchy because that doesn't happen here.

Think About Villages! NC State offers a lot of Living and Learning Villages that are normally located in the nicest dorms on campus. I lived in the the Arts Village my freshman year, and we were given free admission to fine arts performances and lived in the best dorms right next to the gym. Although you spend extra time doing activities for them, the rewards are great.

Everyone Fits in – North Carolina State has so many different majors that you really can be anything you want to be here. I find that classes are a lot easier here than surrounding Universities, and you still get a solid and noteworthy degree. Most professors are friendly, caring, and helpful. There is no way you can do bad unless you don't even show up! North Carolina State wants you to succeed and everyone is here for you.

Not very strict. Residence hall doesn't put many restrictions on visitors.

Library :D – The library has everything you need except personal snuggies. You can check almost any type of electronic device out. You can reserve private study rooms for study groups before an important exam.

Process Runs Smothly – As a financial aid applicant myself I had a good experience with the process. It was fast and the school does most of the work for you as long as the deadlines are met.

School Policies Are Strict – Unlike many schools NCSU actually enforces their policies and it is very strict on the punishments specially concerning alcohol. They will not take anything into consideration once the rules are broken, everybody is treated fairly.

Pool College of Managment – At NCSU once you are enrolled you are transferred to an specific college that specializes in your intended major. It had been very helpful to me because it allowed me not only to get to know the people I interact most during the day but also to know my professors and Deans. Also activities are done constantly to give information about career-related opportunities available for students such as clubs, career fairs and extracurricular activities. This is very important because it gives the feeling of being in a family and it gives confidence needed in such a big school.

Because of how specific my major is it is difficult to find scholarships I am eligible to apply for. I wish there were more scholarships offered that were specific to my major.

Campus Wolfline Bus – Buses are extremely reliable. You can check online where the buses are at their exact location.

Overall Computer Network – Every building on campus has at least one lab with 10 computers or more. The majority are PCs and a few are Macs. The wireless is throughout campus is and is reliable. Printing is easy to find, but cost 8 cents for black and white copies. During finals the computer labs are more busy, but it is still easy to find a computer.

Usually a comfortable temperature. Some winters it will snow which can be annoying, but it always melts pretty quickly.

Many Opportunities for Aid – I was offered several schollarships and I know NC State offers plenty of aid based on need and academic vigor.
