Lower Class Man Life. The dorms are average here at North Carolina State University. However, the life her isn't so great. There isn't to much to get out and do apart from the gym and food. There needs to be more social events. The beginning of the semester was just fine, but the campus seems to be lacking of life throughout the rest of the year.

Engineering and Vet – NCSU is well known for its engineering and vet program. Though any degree from NCSU is a good one. The frats on campus are pretty decent and there is always something going on. Never a dull moment here.

University Towers Scandle – I dont know how popular drugs are around the school, but I do know that many students got kicked out of University Towers dorm for smoking pot. Drinking, however, is very popular

I live in the Tucker FYC dorm and I really enjoy it. The rooms are big enough for my roomate and I to share and not too cramped. All the dorms are close to central campus and is only a short walk from any class or dining option.

I did receive financial aid help. The best tip is to get the fasfa done as soon as possible.

Our school is only delayed &/or closes early for bad winter weather. Our school rarely closes for bad winter weather.

I have a car on campus, mostly for driving off campus to home & work. I park right at my dorm, which is great, & I can always find a parking spot. The cost for a yearly parking pass was very reasonable.

Pretty Good! State has many oppurtunites for experiences and clubs, however they are mostly at night.

To get my financial aid for NC State University, I fill out a FAFSA and used those awards towards my college education. I still had to take out some loans and my mom had to pay the rest. I did not receive all of the money that I was hoping on getting.

There are many activities that students can get involved with at night. There are many bars and clubs in downtown Raleigh. Students without cars are able to take campus transportation downtown and oly have to walk a block or two to your destination. There are also on campus and off campus parties that students are able to attend.

There are many options for off-campus housing here at NC State University. The have an apartment complex called college inn that is the closest to campus. They have security guards that walk the halls nightly to insure safety and they have a parking garage for the residents. There are many other apartment complexes near campus that I am not that damiliar with, but I have heard nothing but good comments about them. The only bad thing I've heard about living off campus id that you would have to have your own transportation unless there is public transportation nearby or a shuttle that will take you to campus from your apartment.

While you will receive money if you need it, it is no where close to what your tuition bill comes out to be.

While the dining halls don't always offer the tastiest meals, there is always something to eat.
Lots of students like going to eat at the Student Center or various other places to eat all over campus.

NC State is located in the heart of Raleigh and is surrounded by numerous attractions that exhibit the Wolfpack spirit.
From dining on Hillsborough St which runs next to campus, to shopping and eating in Cameron Village, a few minutes from campus, there is always something going on.
Football is a huge deal at the school and you should definitely go to the games! Make sure you support the Pack and boo against our rival school, the UNC Tarheels.

Guys & Girls:
Definitely Some Lookers – There is quite the mix of social scenes, and I love walking through the brickyard so I can see all the people. There are definitely some hot guys around. ;) The girls, mostly dress nice and they look nice, but personality tends to leave a bit to be desired.

I still need money for school and I am still looking and applying for scholarships.

Athletic Center – I feel that the center has a variety of options when it comes to health and wellness, physical fun, and stress relieving.

Computer Access – It is crucial to have your own individual computer. It would be such a hassle to have to go to a computer lab and printing place for every assignment due. Although they are easily accessible and very nice facilities, it'd be a pain.

Consider the Middle Class – My family would be considered "middle class" but my dad lost his job during the recession and I had applied for financial aid before he had lost his job so we didn't qualify. Once we did it was hard to get in contact with the right people but after about 2 months I was able to talk to someone.

At the beginning of my freshman year I was raped off campus and the administration tried to play it off because the guy was a park scholar. They only questions they asked me were if I had been drinking and if I was only upset because I lost my virginity. Only after the police took pictures of my bruises did they give him a slap on the wrist by making him move out of the dorms. And I also got charged for underage drinking and received a first offense by the school, even though it was off campus and the police said they weren't going to charge me because of the nature of the crime.

Lots of Diversity – There is an accletic group of students which stems from the school of agriculture and the school of engineering. Not all the teachers are reliable for assistance, about 1/4 of the time when I have tried to contact my professors they blow me off or defer my answer for a long period of time. The workload varies from each department, ie) the college of engineering has much harder workload than the college of humanities and social science.

IM and club sports have anything anyone could ever want to do, and if they don't, you can create it! The varsity sports are pretty big too. Everything but men's basketball and football is on campus so it's real easy to catch a game after studying. Great campus interaction!

Hillsborough St! Hillsborough St has come a long way. They have anything you could want: Asian, Mediterranean, Mexican, you name it! You can get lunch for $5 at most places and dinner just a few bucks more. If you want something more high class. They have Porter's, Fraizers, and a new place at the intersection with Oberlin

Health & Safety:
Never Scared – I have never felt unsafe at NCSU. Whenever there are unlit areas, there is a blue emergency phone in sight. The police station is on campus and they are always patrolling. As long as you're smart about when you walk around campus and with whom, you'll be fine.

Handled Well – The Financial Aid office is very well versed in the processes involved. I've never had any difficulty with them,.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
