I think living in campus housing is always little more expensive than sharing room with someone out of campus. Personally I have never lived on campus, however it does have a lot of advantage like allowing students to walk to school. And for NC State University, I think the amenities, and the social atmosphere are well organized, so I will say they are excellent.
