Making friendships that last a lifetime, creating a network through your peers, and getting involved in the community is what Greek life promotes to draw new members into a brotherhood/sisterhood. Greek life holds events like Greek Week and recruits new members at the beginning of each semester, but it is not as prevalent on this campus as it is at many other schools.

Due to recent hazing suspensions, house vacancies, and house renovations, the Greek life office's budget has been suffering. Each vacant fraternity or sorority house is a loss of approximately $110,000, especially since Greek Court is all revenue-supported. Sigma Nu, Sigma Alpha Epsilon, Kappa Alpha Order, and Sigma Phi Epsilon have either been temporarily suspended or have lost University recognition. Greek life membership has significantly decreased over the past several years, and fraternities are at their lowest membership numbers in recent history.
