With more than 25,000 students, there is bound to be someone with the ideal personality for you. NC State, unlike UNC-Chapel Hill, is known for having more guys than ladies. This is stereotypically expected, since NCSU is recognized as an engineering school, which tends to attract more males than females. However, with programs like Women in Science and Engineering (WISE), the female population is on the rise, and the boy-to-girl ratio is evening out.
NCSU also has a large agriculture program bringing in the good ol’ Southern boys. The boys at State vary from the preppy, boat shoe, popped-collar-wearing frat boys to the tractor-loving rednecks. It is the same with the ladies—you will find pearl accessorized, Vera Bradley-wearing sorority girls, as well as workout fanatics and women scientists. The girls, as a whole, seem to outshine the guys in looks, playing in a league above them, but with Raleigh being a top city for singles, the dating scene is hot for anyone. Boys, don’t be afraid to venture out and test the waters at Meredith and Peace College.

Different Stereotypes
At NC State there are different cliques. It is not a positive nor negative aspect of campus. This school is big on agriculture therefore we have a lot of southern students. NC State is also big in Greek life, so we have alot of sorority girls and fraternity boys.
