Student Author OverviewWhat's This?

Transportation around campus is not hard to find. Students have the option of driving to campus, parking on campus at their designated spot, or going to a nearby Park-n-Ride. The campus bus, the Wolfline, makes it easy for students to get across such a large campus easily. The Wolfline also runs at night, making it easy to get around to the bars located on Hillsborough Street and to local apartments without the hassle of finding a DD. Many apartments have shuttles that allow students to leave their cars at home and not have to deal with buying a parking pass or finding a spot.

Public transportation is also all over Raleigh. Students without cars often take advantage of the CAT to get around to grocery stores or even the mall. Another perk is that most public transportation is free for students with a campus ID. You may even consider resorting to what is now one of the most popular ways to get to class—riding your bike or your skateboard.

Wolfline, Public Transportation, & Cars

There are two busing systems available to everyone. Wolfline, the system that most students use to travel to class, comes to a variety of stops around town where most students would be. There is also the public transportation system of Raleigh that goes anywhere you want. You also have the option to use your car. However, to park on campus, you would need to have a parking permit. Therefore, most students use the Wolfline.

Ugh...

Buses need more effective routes and better times. Parking is horrible! The decks can be ok, but the lots have spaces that are entirely too small and terrible parkers (taking up several spots, etc.) are often not ticketed. Parking is out on the edges, no where near where you need to go. It usually takes 10-15 min to walk from your car to where you need to go.
