I was only half way through my degree when I had to up and move to a whole other state. NIC offered all the classes I needed online so I could complete my degree and my advisor was helpful in coaching me through the whole process. I'm now able to graduate on time and there is a possibility I will go back to obtain another degree.

When trying to register for classes, it can be hard to arrange them the way that I can get everything I need in one semester considering there are few classes given. Also when it comes to wanting to register where you exceed the 18 credits, it can be a hassle to petition to allow to take more.

I'm dual enrolled so North Idaho college is wonderful and very flexible with accommodating to my future plans at University of Idaho however, I did have a bit of trouble organizing that with my high school but I sorted it out very well.

The parking is oneof my biggest complaints at NIC. Instead of logically building up, ie: a parking garage, they built out. So, now in the winter, we get the pleasure of walking a half mile to a mile through sludge and snow! This is with the $30.00 parking pass that I purchased! In reguards to the teaching staff, most are pretty amazing. They are flexible and accomodating when dealing with a student who may have personal issues. Core classes are a pain here, and seem more rigorous then other colleges.

I think NIC has a wide variety of class styles (lecture, hybrid, online, outreach centers, etc.) but sometimes the teachers don't know how to use them well, for instance I have a hybrid class that doesn't use the lecture time to really lecture and instead we end up looking up the powerpoints ourselves online. I'd rather have more lecture in class and more discussion through a forum setting if that's the case. Or I have had a teacher for an online class that I ended up dropping because she was so disorganized with it. I think if a teacher is going to teach any sections other than standard in class lecture, they need to go to seminars to show them how to effectively do this.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
