Campus Safety Service

North Park offers a campus safety escort service for students.

“We have a lot of students who work off campus or need rides to and from public transportation centers,” says Gooris. “Last year we gave 575 shuttle rides, many between midnight and 4:00 am. Kids can call anytime from dusk to dawn and we can dispatch an officer knowing he or she will be able to communicate back to the campus as needed.”

The CTA Can Be a Little Pricey.

North Park is located on the Northwest side of Chicago, not quite to the suburbs. This brings a lot of luxury because we have a lot of green space on campus. It's nice to live near grass and trees amidst the city of Chicago. However, most schools in Chicago have a deal with the Chicago Transit Association where students can buy a pass for the entire semester. North Park has no such deal. It costs students $2.25 for every bus or train ride, that's $4.50 round trip. It makes it difficult to take frequent advantage of the city that we live in when it costs so much to get around.
