Since NEU is a co-op school, half the students are off campus all the time which makes school spirit a little hard

The dorm I stayed in was really nice and modern and clean and I didn't have to share a room which was a plus.

I do not drive here so I have no need for parking.

Boston is a great city to study in, there are so many universities around and so much to do in the city.

I did not apply for financial aid as I am receiving scholarships from my home state as well as parental financial assistance through a college fund they set up when I was young.

Some pretty standard apartments and student houses around the south Boston area, nothing too fancy but they are nice and clean.

The campus isn't as green as I would like but being situated in Boston, it's great for cultural and other activities plus it has its own metro stop so that helps with getting around the city.

I found the application to be pretty straightforward. I used a humorous personal essay which I think gave me an edge because, in reality, the admissions officers must read thousands of these essays and for one to stand out probably helped me get in.

I haven't done an internship yet but I intend to next summer.

The orange line and green line both run through our campus, so it is very easy to get where you need to go.

The dining hall at International Village is WONDERFUL. I look forward to eating lunch and dinner every day there because the food is great, there are many options, and the staff is nice. There are two other dining halls that are, in my opinion, not nearly as good, but there's also a restaurant on campus called Rebecca's that people really like. We also have Qdoba, Boloco, Au Bon Pain, three Dunkin Donuts, and a food court that take dining dollars, so there are other options too.

A lot of people drink, but you don't have to if you don't want to. I haven't heard/seen much about drugs.

Northeastern has students from all over the world. I have met a ton of international students already, as well as people from different economic backgrounds and with different beliefs.

The campus is as strict as you would hope in a big city. You have to live in a dorm to be allowed upstairs on your own, and visitors have to sign in with ID.

Greek life doesn't seem to play much of a role on campus like it does at other schools. It's there if you want to join, but the only times I really hear about it are when they host comedy nights and other events that are open to the rest of the school community.
College Freshman 2013-11-11T19:03:54Z
Freshmen for the most part have to live on campus and they want sophomores to as well, so I have yet to try moving off campus.
College Freshman 2013-11-11T19:02:42Z
My parents took care of the financial aid paperwork, but I ended up not receiving any because I got a full tuition scholarship :) Northeastern gave out 400 full tuition scholarships my year, and many more partial scholarships.

There is a lot to do on the weekends both for those who party and those who don't!

Health & Safety:
Because we are in a big city with a train station right on campus, you do have to be on alert when you walk around. However, campus police are always around and they make their presence known. I feel very safe during the day and moderately safe walking around alone at night.
College Freshman 2013-11-11T19:01:11Z
Greek life isn't really a big deal at Northeastern. Some people do it, but it isn't really a big deal either way
