It's a city so there are plenty things to do if you really want to go somewhere. Boston has lots of college students so it is very student-centered.

Transportation is extremely convenient. There are two subway stations right on campus - one on each side. There's an orange line station and a green line station. Students can pretty much get to anywhere in the city without problem.

We Have Great Athlete Teams! Our athlete teams are great. The coaches are very nice. I'm on the swim team. All of the team members are like a family. We love it!

Most of the computers in the library and print labs are nice, except sometimes a few of them in the print lab are a little slow, which is expected. Overall, I'm satisfied with the computers.

If you buy a parking pass, it's okay - but you usually have to drive up to the 4th or 5th floor of the parking garage before you find a spot (takes forever and makes me dizzy!)
If you try to just find a spot on the street, you'll be lucky if your car is still there at the end of the day because the towing companies love to come around our school!

Guys & Girls:
Guys and Girls – Girls are typically kind of catty and competitive. There is a lot of over-exaggeration and drama.
Guys are pretty low key and laid back. Most of them smoke pot and still party like they're in high school.

Entrepreneur in Training – I think this community is great because there is a lot to get involved in and lots of money/funds available if you have a great idea.

Parties and Bars – There are a good amount of parties, a lot of people like to go to the bars.

The co-op program will help you stand out from all the rest when applying for a job. Co-op offers you the chance to work in the field of your choice for 6 months which helps build your resume. This program is unique and Northeastern is rated number one for it. Not many schools offer this and allow you to be able to work for such an extended time while not taking classes during this period. During such harsh economic times co-op is so crucial to have it just gives you that one up from anyone else.

Northeastern has a strict policy especially when it comes to drinking and use of drugs. Many people do get fined and possibly probation or expelled. Campus police are always busting parties and punishing students for miscondut. I would advise people to be smart about it and not walk the streets drunk especially if you are underage because you will be brought to OSCAR and face the possiblity of being severely punished for your actions

Expensive Apartments – Beware of the high costs of living in Boston. Housing is expensive and many pay at least $1000 or more a month to live in a tiny apartment. Though you will be able to find apartments for $850 but they will be located in a rough area. Housing is easy to find and many students do rent or sublet to other Northeastern students.

NUPD is good. TOO good. Underage drinking and drug use is taken very seriously, but if you're discreet and smart about it you can get away with it. DO NOT SMOKE IN YOUR DORM ROOM. Its a really easy way to get into a lot of trouble.

"Most Diverse in Boston" – Northeastern is known for its diversity, and there are a lot of international students, but most students are Caucasian and come from a very similar socioeconomic background.

Be Careful! Off-campus housing can be less expensive than on campus, but make sure to do your research before you sign anything. Apartments are readily available, and close to campus.

Co-Op the Best by Far – Co-op at NU is great. We're ranked no.1 in the US. The student body is very mixed, so you will find someone to click with. The academic program is great. Hard but you will learn alot if you choose to. Being in Boston means that shopping and going out is always and option. Also having the green line in the middle of campus is great for getting around.

Amazing - Don't Regret It – I absolutely love it here. Boston is amazing city, classes are hard but you learn alot. Depending on the major you have to study otherwise you will fail.

Guys & Girls:
Mixed View on It – The girls are really pretty, some of the guys are nice. Social life is amazing. ALways something to do. Very mellow school, not preppy.

I've fallen into the middle class trap and was unable to receive any substantial amount of aid. This is one category Northeastern really needs to improve on.

It's Boston. Although the T can sometimes be frustrating, I have to admit that it gets you pretty much everywhere in and around the city for $1.70. There is also great public transportation (trains, planes, buses) between Boston and other east coast cities.

When you're on the inside Greek life can be a big part of your life and social scene, but as far as Northeastern in general, it's definitely not the central focus.
Recent Alumnus 2011-03-23T15:01:23Z
northeastern prides itself on having a very diverse campus, and while there are people of all different races and ethnicities at the school, the overall population isn't as diverse as they claim

GOOD but Repetitive – there are lots of dining options on campus when you have a meal plan. however, if your meal plan only allows you to go to the dining halls and not any of the other options on campus without paying, the options get old pretty fast

Health & Safety:
Safety and Security – The safety and security around campus is very good, I never felt unsafe on the actual campus, and the campus police do a good job. However, the campus police overstep their boundaries outside of the campus and get people in trouble when they are nowhere near Northeastern.

Snell Library – Temperature is adjusted bad but the collection of the book is good.
College Sophomore 2011-03-21T16:03:00Z
Not a Big Issue – I don't notice that many people into hardcore drugs. Of course people drink a lot and smoke weed, but no big problems.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
