The Financial Aid Process with NU has been quite good and I have not had any problems at all. Make sure you complete your FAFSA early and submit it on time!

The athletics at NU have been very good and it is so exciting to watch them and even better when you have Student Tickets. The athletic facilities are very nice also and it is just a great scene to be involved in.

Guys & Girls:
The guys and girls at my school are both great. I have met some very nice guys and girls who I will be long-ime friends with and I have made special connections with them by traveling to Greece for my first semester and doing something completely out of the ordinary.

I love it here. If you let your social life rule your academic life, then it could be trouble. You have to study here; it isn't all parties. I had a rough time before I came here.

Be Smart – You can have fun just make sure you're smart about it. Don't go into someone's room that is known for being caught or you can hear is having a party especially after quiet hours and ESPECIALLY id the on duty RA is uptight.

Living in International Village you will meet people from EVERYWHERE. Not only are there people from different parts of the country, but different parts of the world as well.

Could Be Better for a Top 10 – Rated as one of the top ten (actually the exact 10th) dining halls in the country, I'm kind of surprised and definitely expect more than this. A lot of times, I see myself eating the same things, often. With three dining halls, you'd think the variety would be more expansive.

Printing on Campus – Printing is convenient on campus, especially with the new program that they have created. Through this, students can send print jobs from just about anywhere to the library, and from there, with just a swipe, the print job is complete. There are multiple printers hooked up to the system so there's never really a never-ending wait.

If you want it, you can find it. If you don't no one is pressuring you

Honors Housing – Freshman honors housing has been pretty awesome. Aside from a few broken things here and there its been clean and convenient to have your own bathroom

It's Boston. there wouldn't really be a place to park even if they weren't 6 garages set aside for Northeastern students and staff.

Really Good – The gyms, the libraries, everything here is in really good condition. however, the couches in the student center could use a re-uphostering

Health & Safety:
Rare Occurences – It is Boston, so there's no denying that bad things happen. every once in a while you get an email about a couple robberies and binge drinkers, but nothing too scary. Campus PD is never too far away, and will usually give you a ride to your dorm if you feel insecure.

Classes rarely get canceled, though it does snow a lot during the winter months. However, the university and Boston Public Works is great at keeping pathways and roads clear, so it isn't usually a struggle to get to class. Because Northeastern is in Boston, it can get very cold during the winter and very warm during the summer. When it is nice outside, everyone goes outside to enjoy the sun and the warmth.

Guys & Girls:
The Place Is Filled With Them.. One shot, relation, romance, marriage,.. You can find all of that at NEU. And Boston is filled with them. There are lot of hot girls and boys. In summer, the girls go into sexy half bikini mode. The people are also generally trendy and styled.

There Are Good Spots Out There.. There are lot of living spots available in building around the university. A huge part of the student body chooses to leave off campus around Boston (which is a great city!). Boston has an excellent transportation system, which makes it easy for students who decide to live off campus. It is best to stay on campus for safety and other related issues that can easily stress out oneself. But, there are still good spots out there...

Advisors Help Plan Out Courses and Schedules – Advisors are always willing to help out if you make an appointment to see them, but they only go out of their way to help the first semester freshmen decide which classes they should be taking

Great Scholarship Opportunities – Northeastern has a lot to offer in terms of financial aid and scholarships, especially considering their on-going expansion of the Honors program, where quite a few of the biggest scholarships go. There's a ton a scholarships available and you just have to look for them online or call the financial aid office to find them. The one caveat - if you have one of the huge scholarships (full tuition, everything, etc.) then you have to complete some community service every year. However, co-op employers LOVE seeing consistent community service on your resume and its easy to find a service activity that you could enjoy.

Good If You're Over 21, Limited If You're Not – Boston has a lot of bars, clubs, and generally awesome places for the 21+ crowd (real or fake). Unfortunately, Mayor Menino has restriced clubs to only those over 21 and what is the point of going to a bar if you're not old enough to drink? If you're under 21, house parties on the hill (which more often then not get busted), apartments parties on Symphony, Gainsborough, St, Stephens, and dorm parties (watch out for annoying RAs!) are the norm. You can do it, but its really frustrating sometimes.

A Lot of Variety – Being in the middle of downtown Boston, Northeastern have every type of dining options available to you that you could think of within a walk or T Ride away. Close by, you have places like Qdoba,Boloco, the new Panera, and the places in the Pru (including Cheesecake Factory and P.F. Changs). A little farther away you have the famous Faneuil Hall Marketplane and Cambridge and Allston, which have a lot more ethnic and cultural dining establishments. You can also get food in a variety of price ranges from pretty cheap to fine-dining expensive.

Process Confusing! Very confusing with departments and schools offering different scholarships for students

Overall Sports – With the university cutting the football program, more focus is on men's and women's basketball and rowing. In general, the school is making an effort to change around the student interest and involvement in sports by offering a wide variety of intramural and club sports. School spirit is lacking but once a large win is in store for any of the varsity sports I can see spirit increasing. The athletic facilities are excellent!

Not Applicable for International Students – As I am an international student, I was not qualified for any types of financial aid. At least, that's what I was told.

The T (MBTA) – The campus size is about average, not too big and not too small. However everything is within walking distance. Northeastern lies in the middle of Boston, and there is a are two T stops right in front of NEU which makes it very easy to get to places. The only downside is that there is no campus transportation, and it is a bit difficult to places at night after the T stops running at around 11pm to midnight.

Because Boston is such a big college town, there is a big presence of university students ranging from those who are always down to have fun and those who are very serious about their work and their future. The general atmosphere in NEU is a friendly one. Just as long as you're not acting odd or obnoxious, most people are nice and friendly - at least at the beginning.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
