no, but switching your major is very easy. I applied as a physics major & once I was accepted I realized I would rather be undecided, and they allowed me to change my major within seconds

In the past decade, Northeastern's reputation as a prestigious institution has flourished. Not only is the application process becoming more competitive, but also the course schedules are becoming more rigorous. With more than 125 programs to choose from, Northeastern students have countless opportunities for choosing a major. The University's academic approach is flexible, allowing students to practically create their own academic agenda. Each of the eight colleges offers a wide range of undergraduate and graduate programs in addition to the interdisciplinary majors that combine two or more fields of study. If you are indecisive about your major, Northeastern's faculty and staff are there to assist you in signing up for classes according to your interests, inevitably setting you on a career track that works best for you.

Especially for those students who have trouble committing to a particular career path, the co-op program (short for "cooperative education") can serve as a means of insight and experience in the professional world. Each student can follow either the four-year or five-year program of study, depending on his or her desire to partake in the co-op program. For those that do participate in the co-op program, they will gain up to 18 months of professional work experience and graduate with several entry-level jobs on their resume. Northeastern's co-op program works with more than 2,000 employers in the realms of finance, government, health care, technology, industry, and the arts and media. Gaining work experience prior to graduating college is very useful, particularly in this economy. Northeastern students who have gone through the co-op experience are put at a unique advantage when it comes to the job market.

This is one of the many month-long programs worth eight course credits (two classes) offered by NU. Here, we're assembling care packages for families affected by HIV/AIDS for distribution via the Red Cross network. An amazing opportunity to grow your world and learn to act on compassion!
