Certainly no need for a car in the city. Public transportation options are abundant. Ruggles has dozens of buses going through, as well as the Orange subway line. The Green E line is right in the front/center of campus, and other Green lines are only a short walk away. It's very easy to get to the airport and train/bus stations. Cost is typical for a city - but a monthly pass (if you will get enough use out of it) is relatively inexpensive.
