Hockey and basketball are the two biggest sports at Northeastern, at least in terms of sporting events that students will go to. The teams at Northeastern are okay, but the atmosphere is the best part about these games. The student section is loud and involved, especially at hockey games. It's always fun to go to the games and cheer for the NU teams. However, besides those two sports, there's definitely less student involvement, although there are definitely still people who will support every team. School spirit may not be the same as it would at a school such as Alabama or large state schools, but that can be partially explained by the fact that NU doesn't have a football team. The athletic facilities are top-notch, both for varsity athletes and anyone who wants to use the gym. Intramural sports are popular too, and there's a large variety of them.

there's a cheerleading team?
