At a university so focused on the practical applications of learning, do you ever feel as if it leaves no room for creativity or courses that don't necessarily help you get a job?
Not at all, our school is very focused on future job opportunities.
Actually I sort of meant the opposite, as in do you ever feel overwhelmed with the job search and miss out on taking classes that interest you even though they don't help your resume? I'm just worried the school is so practical I would miss more of a campus feel to the university
One of the required core courses at Northeastern is a comparative study of cultures course, which doesn't necessarily have to do with one's major, along with arts and humanities courses. Furthermore, students are allotted elective courses, which can be used in however manner they please. For instance, I'm a Computer Science major but I'm taking an art class this semester.
Wow, really? The only reason I ask is because my brother graduated from here with a major in International Business, and was really limited with what courses he could take outside of those required for his major. I want to major in International Affairs, but I also want to try out different courses, too. So thanks!
