The city of Boston, in general, is a college town. The city is not too big or overwhelming, and there are so many schools located within such a small proximity to one another. Northeastern is located among some of the best attractions, events, and shopping that Boston has to offer! First of all, Northeastern is just around the corner from the beloved Fenway Park. If you’re not a Red Sox fan when you get to Boston, chances are you’ll be one when you leave. Also around the corner is Newbury Street, which is famous for its high-end boutiques, fancy restaurants, and beautiful architecture. Parallel to Newbury Street is Boylston Street, which is lined with fun bars packed with mostly college students. Even if you’re not 21, you can still enjoy Boylston Street’s Pour House (along with many other restaurants) for a cheap and incredibly delicious brunch.
If you’re looking to watch the Celtics or Bruins play or see your favorite musical artist perform, the TD Banknorth Garden is just a short 10-minute T-ride away from campus. Downtown Boston has plenty of attractions, such as Faneuil Hall, Chinatown, Downtown Crossing, and the theater district. Another great aspect of Boston’s atmosphere is the local suburbs like Brookline and Cambridge, which are only 10 minutes away and offer a nice break from the chaos of the city. No matter what you enjoy seeing, doing, or eating, the city of Boston and its suburbs have so much to offer—it’s impossible to think of going to college anywhere else.
