Best Place to Take Your ParentsCollege Prowler Take
The city of Boston, like most large cities, is definitely not the best place to find bargain food. Northeastern is in an expensive area, and the restaurants off-campus indicate this. However, if you go with a group of friends or have your parents take you out, you’ll find that you will have many great dining experiences here. Every type of cuisine is at your fingertips, and the hardest part is deciding where to spend your dollars! For birthdays, a lot of people like to take a large group to the Cheesecake Factory or T.G.I. Friday’s. For a more intimate setting, try Ciao Bella or Legal Sea Foods in the Prudential Center. Very special occasions could send you to the Top of the Hub, known for its exquisite views of the city and high-priced food and drinks. Chinatown is known for its cheap Dim Sum brunches and grocers. The North End is known for fabulous pastries and excellent Italian fare. Overall, there are plenty of options for every taste and cost.

The cool thing about Northeastern...
The cool thing about Northeastern is that we're right in the middle of the city, so it's never hard to find somewhere to go to eat. The Prudential Center/Newbury Street is about a 10-minute walk from campus, and there are a ton of restaurants over there. Our meal plan comes with dining dollars each semester that work in a lot of those restaurants, as well. It's also easy to jump on the T and within 20 minutes you can be in the North End with all of the Italian restaurants and pastry shops. Boston also has a lot of good seafood restaurants—the Harbor is also only a 20-minute train ride away.

There is always a good eating...
There is always a good eating establishment within a close walk. The best part about campus is that there are so many places to eat that you should never have to eat in the same place day after day. No one even bothers to drive for food because everything is so easily reached by foot! For pizza, there is Cappy's; for sandwiches, there is Temptations; for sushi, Symphony Sushi is a must; and for Thai, go to Pho & I. The options are endless, and you can spend $5 or you can spend $50. Everything is in walking distance, and if you want to go a little fancier, there are always options for that, too.

Northeastern University is in...
Northeastern University is in Boston, so no matter your price range or taste, there is a restaurant for you. Right next to campus there are a lot of "college-priced" places, such as Qdoba and Boloco if you want Mexican food, and the obvious pizza joints. The campus favorite seems to be BHOP just because it is pretty much on the campus. However, if you have the will to walk for a little bit—and I mean only a little bit—there is Indian, Thai, barbecue, steak, and other such restaurants. So, as I said, no matter what your taste or price range, there is a place for you.

The Prudential is about a 10-minute walk from campus and has a delicious food court, The Cheesecake Factory, and P.F. Chang's. Close to campus is Temptations, a great sandwich place for lunch or coffee. Cappy's & BHOP are favorites for late-night pizza. Pretty much any restaurant has delivery—even Cheesecake Factory!—so that's always an option.

In Boston, there’s any kind of food you’d want, at just about any price range. NU students tend to go broke because of eating out too much. |
