Major Alumni Events

  • Without a doubt, the biggest alumni event of the year is Homecoming Weekend in October, which features a parade, extensive tailgating and a football game. There are also several alumni travel programs that run throughout the year.

Alumni Publications

  • Northern Lights – The official newsletter of the Alumni Association comes out twice a year. It focuses on what the association is working on and provides updates on alumni events.
  • Northern Now – The official magazine of NIU features profiles on the alumni, students and faculty helping NIU make a name for itself worldwide. Don't forget to check out the "Northern Notes" section for the latest on alumni events and fellow classmates.
