It is in the upper peninsula, so not much around and the weather just kills all the good things about the atmosphere.

There is a lot to do in Marquette. If you like the outdoors, you would definitely like coming up here because there are bike trails, hiking spots, and a ski/snowboarding mountain. There are also a lot of local events going on and there are plenty of stores to shop at. The only thing "wrong" persay with Marquette is that the locals do not fully support the college. They just tolerate it.

I love the town of Marquette, it's adorable. There are little independent shops, but we also have some National/ World-Wide Chains. There is lovely beaches all along Lake Superior and so many places were you can do nature-oriented activities like hiking, exploring or skiing!

Downtown Marquette sports streets lined with small and large shops ranging from bookstores to candy shops and restaurants. The downtown area is very pedestrian friendly and walks a fine line between modern and rustic. Aside from its downtown scene Marquette is very close to Presque Isle, which has a nice park, Black Rocks (which is the best place to dive into Lake Superior), and a wonderful landscape. Sugar Loaf is a short drive or bike ride from campus and provides majestic landscape filled hiking trails and a breath taking view once you reach the top. All-in-all Northern Michigan University is the best place to go to college.

Northern Michigan is a very welcoming place. It is a small town with a big heart. There is fun around every corner. The beach is literally a few blocks from the University and in the winter there is ice skating, hiking, camping, the ice caves and so much more. There is always something to do in Marquette.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
