The weather up here on the Big Lake is pretty cold, but it's a fantastic place to live if you love autumn colors and winter. Ice fishing, nordic and downhill skiing, and snowshoeing are all great opportunities here during snow season. Sometimes school is even canceled because of the snow.

The winter semester can be really cold! However, I really enjoy the cold weather because I grew up snowboarding in the rocky mountains. If you live on campus, they shovel the snow for you so you don't really have anything to worry about.

Being a meteorology major, I love the weather here. All four season are experienced at the college. The college does close down for three weeks around christmas time which is the harsh part of the winter. The fall colors are beautiful and it doesnt get to hot in the spring and summer since Lake Superior is about one mile away from the campus.

Winter can be pretty intense here- it's a bit of a shock the first year, but you come to embrace it. There's still a lot going on in the winters! It's so beautiful, too.
Spring here is one of the most pleasant things imaginable. And in summer, there are wild fruits and berries everywhere!

The weather is typical Wisconsin weather--rainy, snowy, wet and cold in those cycle periods. Rain and cold last a long time--three or four days, but then you get these really nice periods of warm and sunny and it's absolutely gorgeous. Especially in fall when all the trees on campus turn color. If you're coming up I recommend goulashes or snow boots, and a rain jacket or umbrella. It will completely make everything about ten times funner from class to class. Just avoid the wind as much as possible--there's lots of it.
