i loved doing online classes. i never felt like i was overworked. the teachers did a great job on providing you with what you need to learn.

Northland is a smaller school which is great because you can get one on one with the teacher. The teachers have always been willing to help you understand whatever it maybe.

I have had a good time with all my teachers at northland.

It is average all around. It does lack a gender neutral bathroom for mothers that need to change diapers or transgender students.

The internet is very slow but the labs are nice and seats are usually available. Printing is expense but D2L or desire to learn is a great program. I think it works well for doing online quizzes, tests and other assignments.

They are as good as the in class, classes but I prefer hands on work.

Tuition & Financial Aid:
It's good. Nothing to terrible has gotten in my way and the tuition is higher than I would like but its very good in comparison to other schools.

There is a lack of help for those in higher education courses. It would be great to have people in the learning center that know more about medical careers and material related to the classes I am in.

I had signed up for online classes and was not impressed. I had a very hard time navigating to what I needed for the classes. I ended up dropping the online portion of classes I took and took it in the classroom instead.

The campus has many things going on to occupy students. THe facilities could be upgraded a little but are still very useful and functionable.
College Sophomore 2013-05-24T04:05:35Z
It is very easy to access the computer labs and there are always computers available. Printing is easy and affordable as you are allowed certian credits budgited in. The connection is strong and never had any issues.

Tuition & Financial Aid:
As this is a community college, the classes still have hard grading scales and good teachings as well as affordable tuition.
College Senior 2013-03-27T22:55:51Z
The gym is in a garage and somewhat gross. The library is very small. There is not a lot of campus activities.

Tuition & Financial Aid:
Compared to other PTA schools, Northland is not expensive at all.

My adviser is constantly sending us new job opening for my field.
College Sophomore 2013-03-17T01:34:17Z
The people who work in the computer labs are very kind and helpful but they are lowly funded and outdated as far as technology goes.
College Sophomore 2013-03-17T01:32:52Z
The school doesn't really invest in resources; limited library, outdated technology, hardly any school spirit.
College Sophomore 2013-03-17T01:31:02Z
They have a great child development program but most of the general courses are underfunded. Why does the school care more about making the building pretty and not improving classroom mechanisms?
College Sophomore 2013-03-17T01:29:35Z
Talk about close minded, unmotivated, impatient people. If you are Midwestern at heart and don't mind having the entire student body/majority of the staff stick to those ideals then this is a great school but they are not huge on diversity or trying new things/entertaining new ideas.

You get ~200 free pages of printing a semester, which I have found to be sufficient. Sometimes the wireless is randomly down but if you make friends with the IT guys, they'll lend you a cord to get wired into the network. Computer labs are sometimes used for classes but there's a lounge on the West side of the building that is always open.

Professors are really willing to work with you. If you are unsatisfied with a grade, you can talk it out with them and perhaps get a redo or extension.

I'm in the Medical Administrative Assistant program and my advisor (heck, all the faculty at NCTC) couldn't be more helpful. Most of the classes directly related to my degree; I thought that some of the pre-reqs were a little silly.

The online class was ok but I seemed to misunderstand some of the instructions and missed a few deadlines. Overall I liked it.
College Junior 2012-11-11T21:42:21Z
The professors are pretty involved with the students, and they are willing to work with a student if they are struggling. It is very similar to a high school environment, but they base too much of their grades on attendance. The professors do a variety of types of teaching. The registration process is a major hassle because of the long wait, especially if you need a specific adviser. The workload is pretty easy, but that depends on your classes.
