I do not have online courses, all of my classes are done in a classroom.

I really enjoy the curriculum at NCA, the classes are already assigned when you pick your major so it's really helpful not having to worry about missing classes or being over booked. The school is always open late after classes and professors will answer any question you have and are open to answering emails.

I am a Graphic Design and Photography major, it is a good workload quick paced. It's not overwhelming but there is a lot of work to do. I haven't started my actual major classes don't start til my 5th semester so right now I am taking history, english and some other drawing classes.

Everyone who I have spoken with who has graduated from Northwest College of Art, has a job, or is working as an independent freelance artist. One of the best benefits at this school is that their is a specific position for an administrator who helps students find internships, then jobs, and gets each student more known in the industry. I give school an A- to make room for the few students who do not do anything with their education after they have graduated.

I believe that most students at school are there for the right reasons. Even after two years, some are still wandering around looking kind of lost. At this point, each student more or less has either found their passion, changed their artistic styles, or modified their life. This college is a place to find yourself if you allow it.

The student body is one of the best things about NCA. While your at school you are exposed to so many other artists, you gain alot from seeing their tech. and styles. Seeing how your peers work Teaches you almost as much as your teachers. Though there are not any clubs or sports you can join up in the group activities, for example the school funded a trip to the art museum, and bowling nights.

Tuition & Financial Aid:
At northwest there is an accelerated program, with no summers off witch allows you to achieve a four year BFA major in three years. However this creates difficulty finding financial aid. Because a semester takes place through out the summer months part of your second year WILL not meet most scholarship deadlines because their programs support a fall to spring program. So even though funding is available it will not help you fund your second year till after your third semester. Because of this even though the Aids dept. does great at helping you, it is still very hard to find adiquate help.

Up and Coming – The school is up and coming, they were always trying to help out students with the equipment. The computers always had the best programs and were updated regularly. The hours were not the best, but it was good for the students to learn time management. We had a technician on site, so if there were any problems they were fixed almost immediately.

A Spark – While learning under teachers active in the art community, I learned more from the students than the teachers. I learned true competition and saw raw talent at its truest form. I saw attitude and personal relationships between co-workers and friends. I saw the struggle of an artist emotionally, physically, and financially and saw passion at its finest breaking point. The school was a great space for self teaching experiences and when learning about yourself, the best atmosphere is one where people are not telling you what to think or feel.
