some of the food doesn't taste very good but the majority of it is pretty tasty. I wish there was somewhere to get food around the midnight hours since everything is usually closed in this town by then other than the dounut shop

There are a lot of activities offered throughout the year on Northwestern's campus. No, these activities do not including drinking and acting ridiculous. They are activities that get people involved with their fellow classmates.

There is definitely a majority of white students, but many students are also Hispanic and Asian. There isn't a lot of anything else, though.

Very good academics. They have great professors and really challenge the students. It is hard but worth the it.
College Senior 2013-07-18T03:19:04Z
The computers in some labs are very nice but in the dorms not quite as nice but in a computer lab they are all updated and very nice.

Health & Safety:
Campus is very safe and in a great little town that is also very safe and welcoming. I have never had any issues with safety or health and have really enjoyed it.

I am at Northwestern College in Iowa and it is a great school educationally and they have a very high rate of students getting jobs once they graduate. It is hard but worth it.

The parking is pretty good for upper classman but for the freshman parking can be kind of a hassle. Also some parking is better on one side of campus compared to another side (and my side of parking is pretty good!).

They do a great job on sticking to the rules they lay out for the students. The problems with some schools are the inconsistency of rules but at Northwestern they are good about keeping rules accountable towards all students at all times.

I don't know much about the off-campus housing but I know our campus is a little spread out. So the convenience of the buildings are a little out of the way compared to the rest of the dorms/living arrangements.

The facilities at Northwestern are very state of the art. The recreational center and mini gym have been recently renovated. The student centers and study areas are very peaceful and the center of the student life

Orange City is a small college town with strong religious roots. The people are very friendly and hospitable. The nearby school Dordt College, which is a town over, works in unison with Northwestern on some community projects.

Health & Safety:
The overall health and safety of Northwestern's campus is very good. It is a small community where everyone works together and puts the well-being of others before themselves. The campus is a solid christian environment and partying, drinking and other extracurricular activities are not regular.

Northwestern is a Christian college, so the use of drugs and alcohol is prohibited. Just like at any other college, drugs and alcohol will be available to students if they chose to seek it out. RA's and RD's closely monitor these activities, and discipline will follow every student who is found breaking the rules. Students receive 3 strikes before they are asked to leave Northwestern.

I am a Public Relations major at Northwestern, and the professors who teach in my area of study are very knowledgable and care about their students. They expect a lot out of us, but are always willing to help, whether that means taking time out of their day for a meeting, or answering their cell phone at 8 p.m. Northwestern offers a great peer tutoring program, so students who have already taken and succeeded in the class you are in can help you with projects and writing assignments. An internship is required for PR, and our professors are always sending us emails with options and are more than willing to help us in our search.

Northwestern has some of the best professors in the country. Learning is personal and focused. Each student has their own advisor that teaches in their area of study who helps them set their schedule and succeed in classes.

Northwestern is located in a small town, so travel time is short and predictable.

There is not a lot to do in Orange City as compared to other schools but the people of Orange City make it worth it! The people are always willing to help and are great Christian people. They show great concern for the students and accommodate to the college.

Northwestern is not very diverse when it comes to most things. Most of the students are Dutch or some sort of European descent. Sexual orientation is reflected from the religious aspect of Northwestern. Political beliefs are the most diverse.

It is seriously home away from home for me. I would do anything just to stay here as long as I could.
College Sophomore 2013-04-22T20:26:08Z
My program of teaching is pretty fun and exciting. I enjoy working with children and observing teachers. The workload is not heavy but requires a lot of reading and participating in observations and interviews with other teachers and administrators.

Northwestern admission is not complicated or abnormal. Apply early and fill out FAFSA. In order to get into the teaching program, we are required to make our own portfolio and are required a specific amount of multicultural hours and practicum hours. We are also required to have a gpa of 2.5.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
