There isn't a big drug scene at Northwestern. Many people drink and frat parties are popular, but drug use is not very noticeable.

Pretty good options. It gets boring after awhile but they worked with me when I found out mid school year I was allergic to wheat and soy.

there are alot of small restaruants which give unique options although most of them are asian

Its expensive and often not much for what you pay. Expect run down

Greek life is a bit annoying, but it can be nice since they usually have parties.
College Junior 2013-07-29T00:39:37Z
There are mostly nice computers, but it usually just takes a while to log on in the first place.
College Junior 2013-07-29T00:38:43Z
Haven't had the opportunity to experience the bar/club scene yet, but there's usually a party around if you're looking for it.

Everything is relatively laid back, just don't do anything too stupid and you'll be fine.

I go to school on the downtown campus so going out is expensive. The school itself does not have many social events.

The workload is very high, especially in the first year of the DPT program. The faculty are excellent.

I am currently interning with a public radio station this summer that I got through Northwestern. It is an awesome experience, and it was easy to acquire through the NU's Career Services office, which helped me work on my resume and cover letter. The position is unpaid, but I won a grant through Northwestern that is specifically for unpaid internships. Finding an internship is easy, and Northwestern will do everything it can to help you pursue your dreams.

No merit based scholarships but financial aid is given if you need it.

Big Ten Team!!!! Nuff said. The football can be cold to watch, but definitely worth it.
College Sophomore 2013-06-27T01:46:53Z
Computer labs are decently crowded at times, which is why having a laptop is nice.
College Sophomore 2013-06-27T01:46:22Z
There is parking available but most students don't bring their car to school because of the availability for public transportation.

Northwestern is located in an extremely restaurant-heavy area, so there are a wide variety of options. You can find anything from Ethiopian to Mexican to Thai food within walking distance, and while some of the sit-down places can be on the expensive side of affordable, there are definitely a lot of cheaply-priced options as well. Cheesies (gourmet grilled cheese) is the most popular late night option, and Joy Yee's (Asian food and bubble teas) is a great choice for dinner with friends. Mount Everest (Indian food) and Noodles & Co have some of the best vegetarian options, but most places have something to offer in that department. Unfortunately, not many places offer student discounts, but the range in prices and types of food more than makes up for that.

Great campus shuttles and city bus service. All of campus is served by mutliple 'El' stations along the purple line. Saferide is available all the time.
College Senior 2013-06-23T03:09:35Z
Northwestern parties like the yuppie Sperry-wearing North Shore school that it is. Great transit with on campus shuttles and saferides. There are lots of bars in Evanston but they're of the craft-brew/gastropub variety, unless you want to party with Evanston high schoolers at The Keg.
College Sophomore 2013-06-23T03:07:46Z
Evanston has stuff to do and is very close to Chicago, which has everything to do.

I received enough financial aid to be able to attend, but not enough that it's not a big burden on my family.
College Senior 2013-06-23T03:04:09Z
Football tix are free which is hard to beat at a Big 10 school. That said, our team could use a little more oomph every once in a while.

Medill is tough, but even as a sophomore, I feel like I already have many of the skills necessary to be successful.
College Sophomore 2013-06-23T03:00:28Z
Parties are great, and you don't need to pay a lot of money to take taxis to bars to have a good time.
College Sophomore 2013-06-23T02:59:22Z
My classes are great, and my professors are very knowledgeable.

NU's social life lives and dies by it's Greek life. Some people don't like partying and that's fine, but if you do like drinking, you're gonna have to go Greek.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
