Stingy, but Will Give Financial Aid to Those Who Really Need It!

I have to say that Northwestern's cutoff points for financial aid are pretty harsh. It doesn't work out so well for people who may have a pretty steady source of household income but need some financial aid to cover the rest (i.e. upper middle class)... however, the university definitely works to make sure those who really, really need financial aid WILL get it. It sucks for students who are kinda stuck in the middle, but you do have to give the university props for giving the financial aid to those who really need it.

Financial Aid

Northwestern is known to give out decent financial aid. I was able to get some money because I have two older siblings in college, which affects how much aid is given out.

Surpising

The office told me transfers get the least amount of money because they get it last, but I have received a generous amount. Make sure, though, that you apply for the CSS Profile!
