At many universities, the girls have begun to greatly outnumber their male counterparts, and Oakland University is no exception, with approximately 60 percent of the population being female. But that has not stopped relationships from flourishing at Oakland. Many students are in a long-term or exclusive relationship.

Generally, women that attend Oakland are attractive, athletic, creative, and friendly. Guys are similar—fun, friendly, athletic, and also attractive. But you can't really generalize all students; each is an individual.

Diversity

There is some diversity but it seems like everybody has the same personality type/interest. There isnt a big diversity in social groups. As for guy quality, BAD! its hard to find decent guys at this school. Good school but horrible guys! Education is good but if you want to date(girl or guy) or even just have friend, DONT LOOK FOR THEM ON CAMPUS/YOU WONT FIND. People here are a little bland and boring.

Pleasant Folk

There is nothing majorly disagreeable about the people here. They are generally pleasant and welcoming. There is a lack of diversity in the crowd, however, that suits most who attend this school.

Diversity at Oakland

At Oakland University, there isn't a typical look to a student. All students are from different backgrounds, and races. That is why I like this school, because no one fits into a minority, because it is so diverse. The social life consists of a lot of people involved in leadership, student congress, and Greek life.

Social Scene

There is a great amount of diversity at Oakland University, but certain ethnic groups tend to stick together; religious and ethnic clubs encourage grouping of ethnicity, while clubs based on interests encourage diverse social interaction. Oakland students are pretty outgoing when it comes to meeting new people. All you need to do is sit down at a stranger's table and a new friendship could blossom.

Hookups or Relationships?

Hookups and relationships are pretty much split down the middle at Oakland. So if you are looking for a serious relationship or just a one-night stand, you can pretty much find either if you are outgoing.

Dress Code

Oakland University students pretty much dress casually all the time, but it is really just up to each individual student. Some students come to class in pajamas, while others dress in skirts and high heels.
