Student Author OverviewWhat's This?

College is a stressful time for students. Luckily, downtown Rochester, Pontiac, and Royal Oak have many activities to help you relax once Friday night comes. Bars cater to the 21-and-up crowd, helping them celebrate the completion of a test or paper, and they also give students a place to commune with friends late into the night. As for the college students still anticipating the day they turn 21, restaurants and clubs offer some of the same appeal.

Although downtown Rochester, Pontiac, and Royal Oak offer some good times for college students, party life is sparse at Oakland University. To find any parties, you must look hard. The beginning of the year has the best nightlife, in reference to the quantity of parties at Oakland, because this is when fraternities and sororities often try to get themselves noticed by the incoming freshmen before recruiting. This may come in the form of parties or even small fairs.

Boring

I;m an older student who has "been there and done that" so to speak. The traditional student body seems to enjoy themselves so I guess it's okey.

Under 21, Great! Over 21, No Idea

I don't live on campus so I may not have the best understanding however by reading over the student organizations and sororities that they plan multiple events every week for meeting either on campus or off campus at bowling alleys/cafes/etc. I am under 21 so may not have the access to the over 21 nightlife.

What Night Life?

While driving around Oakland University on a weekend night, you would get the chills because of how quiet this campus is. There aren't many things to do, unless you have a car and you can drive to nearby clubs or parties, as well as the nearby universities.
