The overall experience for Oakwood is exemplary. It may take a while to get settled and understand how Oakwood operates, but when they do, Oakwood becomes a wonderful experience. It is like looking at the cup as half full rather than half empty. If one focuses on the negative things of Oakwood, they will not have a good experience, but if one looks at the positive things, their experience can be promising.
Being a freshman and waiting in long registration lines may seem rough and uncomfortable at first, but in the long run, it is worth it. It is worth the relationships you build. It is worth the spiritual life that you gain. It is worth the amazing classes you take and the experiences you have. Oakwood is not a perfect school, and it definitely lacks in some areas, but it is all worth it compared to what you are given. The friends that are made and the experiences that are had will be things that students wouldn't trade for the world. Many people focus on the destination, but at Oakwood, it is not so much the destination that matters but the journey you take to get to that destination. Future students can be assured that Oakwood University is a great journey.
