Fall and spring is decent. Winters are long, grey, cold and seem to last forever.

There are a good amount of scholarships available, but I have found it difficult to find out how to apply for them. I have also found that there are not many scholarships available for adult students. I did receive a grant from OSU that was very helpful.

Drinking is pretty common, as well as light marijuana use. The use of Adderall for academic purposes is also somewhat common. I have not noticed much hard drugs being used. I do not feel pressured to use any drugs although going to party's and not drinking can be tough.

The options are seemingly healthy, but not actually. Most things are over priced

Ohio State always is expanding and upgrading. They just recently equipped most of the South Campus dorms with A/C, we also have brand new Ohio Union, and main library. The workout facilities are have up to date equipment. Just this year we resurfaced all 8 basketball courts in the remarkable RPAC which is the main workout facility. The only thing that held me back from giving this university an A+ was that Bolz hall and some of the other engineering buildings could use some renovations.

Guys & Girls:
There is a large diversity of guys and girls at OSU. They range in their looks from preppy to athletic to dressing up daily and everything in between. We have so many different groups all over campus that interests can range from Greek life, artsy students, theater kids, science and mathletes, to regular everyday guys and girl. There are plenty of guys and girls who seem to workout non-stop to those who could care less. There are plenty who would seem to just like to go out and party, and those that seem to be there for studies alone. Relationships I'm sure are very diverse. Personally I have been in a long term relationship but I know plenty of people who are just looking for a weekend hookup. There are guys and girls for anyone and everyone to get along with.

There is a large diversity of races, religion, political beliefs, and sexual orientation at OSU. I would say that the acceptance for these groups is quite good. There are so many clubs and groups that embrace these difference and have events and do so many positive things for the university. Some people may think it can't be that diverse because it's Ohio and there can only be a bunch of "rednecks" but that couldn't be further from the truth. I don't think I have run into one "redneck" within my first year on campus. We have students from all over the state, the country, along with many international students. I'd say that OSU is a very diverse campus and very accepting of anyone who is considered a "minority".

Ohio State has many excellent facilities available for students to use. The Wexner Center is my favorite building on campus I would have to say. It is used for many purposes such as for concerts, gallery showings, international film nights, dance performances and many other interesting cultural displays. If you have chance to go the Wex you won't be disappointed!

As a Biology major student i really enjoy the sciences i must take. My major has me taking very interesting classes with labs that i really enjoy. I would definitely pick it again. Plus it helps me get the classes i need for medical school.

Im in Ohio state University and i really enjoy it. It is a good school to go to and will look good when applying to medical schools. Plus it has its own medical school that i could apply for.
College Sophomore 2013-07-14T00:50:06Z
the process of getting into my Biology major was relatively easy. i had no special applications to fill out. I was just asked which major i would enjoy and i chose Biology because i wanted to be prepared for medical school.
College Sophomore 2013-07-14T00:47:56Z
i have not had an internship, but i am a biology major so i have recently applied for one at some hospitals. i would be unpaid and doing simple tasks like answering phone calls and seri up appointments.

It's Ohio, so the weather is kind of unpredictable. But OSU does a really good job of cleaning up after snow/storms.

A lot of chains, but if you go off campus a little farther, it gets a lot better.

Guys & Girls:
This is such a large school that literally everyone can make friends. No matter what you are looking for, there will be someone here who is looking for the same thing. And the numerous clubs help find exactly what you're looking for.

great varsity sports, great intramural sports activities. best part of ohio state- almost too much emphasis on sports and not enough at all on everything else
College Senior 2013-07-11T01:38:17Z
professors are very hit or miss, especially in the GEC courses. good experiences with liberal arts professors and foreign language. registration is relatively easy, workload good on quarters, too much on semesters, guidance counselors rude and offer little direction
College Senior 2013-07-11T01:36:14Z
cost of pass is not terriblle, appreciate it is returnable and difference not used refunded, getting the pass way a crowded long lined nightmare. OSU has so much staff yet is incredibly inefficient, rude, impatient, and impersonal. towing around the area is over-kill and i could truly not afford all the towing. i felt paranoid parking anywhere
College Senior 2013-07-11T01:33:06Z
great city atmosphere. so much to do. loved the city of columbus- though most students didnt appreciate the city and what there was to do enough
College Senior 2013-07-11T01:30:55Z
an absolute headache. all aid is given to everyone else- small towners and minorities, disabilities, out of state- most students who came from 2-4 times the money I did had all the aid and I didnt received any or barely any until I became independent. very unfair and kills the diversity of students from different areas of the state and background. i truly felt like the white, working class, city minority with no assistance. number one reason transfering OSU- they did not care about keeping me.

beautiful in the fall and spring. ugly ugly winters. but better weather than Cleveland, Ohio where I am from

The transportation options around Ohio State are awesome. CABS buses are free for everyone, which is nice when students have visitors that do not have BuckIDs. To go to the Short North for shopping or dinner or to get to the nearby AMC, students can ride COTA buses for free with their BuckID. And for long distance travel, there is a MegaBus stop at the Union.

Health & Safety:
I have never had a problem walking across campus alone. Even at night, I have never had an unpleasant experience. The only place where walking alone can be scary, especially at night, is High Street and more specifically, in the Short North which is just south of campus. On campus, there are phones with blue lights on them which can be used in case of any emergency and they are EVERYWHERE.

While acquiring a parking permit is relatively easy at Ohio State, it is not very cheap. And the student lots are not very close to campus and require taking a bus to where you need to go. But having a permit makes it a sure deal that there will be a spot for your car. If you are without a permit, finding somewhere to park is an absolute nightmare. Especially off-campus with all of the one-way streets and the construction that goes on.

The biggest Varsity athletic teams at Ohio State are, of course, Football and Basketball. These teams get a lot of media attention and they are the only sports that are not free for students to attend games. They have their own student sections, Block O and The Nuthouse, respectively, that a huge number of us students participate in to support our Buckeyes. However, because students can go to support any other Varsity or Club Sport for free with their BuckID, it is very common for a group of friends to decide to go to the Baseball game or cheer on Women's Volleyball. Also, the state-of-the-art RPAC that was just built a few years ago gives every student the ability to play a few games of racquetball, volleyball, or basketball with their friends, as well as swim a lap or two in the pool. Ohio State is a school that really supports and encourages student participation in athletics.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
