I can't say I ran into any problems with security on campus at OSU. The off campus atmosphere is a little different though. there were several weekends with huge block parties and the law enforcement showed up to those, but that is to be expected. Academic Good standing seems to be fair in determining which students are in good standing and which are not.

Wide variety. Some majors require a lot of prereqs before you can apply

Guys & Girls:
Some of us are trying to study and get a solid education while at school, but I would be lying if I said I never noticed all of the attractive girls on campus. You don't need to look far to find any type of girls, or guys for that matter, as diverse and large as OSU is.

Very expensive. 1st and 2nd years must part on west campus. Unless you have class very early, finding a parking spot near the stadium is near impossible. Be prepared to stalk people to their parking spot.

The sport scene at OSU is absolutely huge and always fun to be involved with. Football games and basketball games are great for fans of college athletics. Intermural sports were also a ton of fun participating in since the level of competition was a lot lower than it would have been for a varsity caliber team. Everyone seemed to be friendly at the intermural sports I partook in.

Campus life at The Ohio State University falls nothing short of amazing! The campus is beautiful during all seasons of the year and it always hosts events, whether student led or run by the University. The Ohio Student Union provides study space, space to hangout with friends, and most importantly a hot spot to grab some great tasting food!! Activities and events are always present inside the recently remodeled Student Union. An important feature of the Ohio State's campus is that libraries are located all around campus at easy to walk distances from all dorms. The libraries are located at beautiful parts of campus and range from modern, newly remodeled decor to modest, invigorating history and past.

The process of getting into the Psychology Program at Ohio State University is simple. There is not a specific application to get into the program, but a basic meeting to declare your major. You just go online to the psychology department website and look up a time and date that works for you. You attend the 30 minute information session and declare yourself as a Psychology Major with fellow Psychology majors and the aid of an advisor.

Parking is sparse within the main parts of campus. There are places on the streets, but you have to pay for those. You have to pay for garages, also, but these are more accessible. Any way you look at it, you have to have a pass. If you commute, there is a parking lot off campus (West) from where you take a bus into campus.

Ohio has all four seasons, so depending on the month it could be hot, raining, snowing, windy, or what-have-you. Getting to class could be affected, such as if it is raining I usually take the bus, which is more crowded for the same reason I'm on it. Classes are usually fairly close to the dorms, though.

Excellent students attend the Ohio State University year in year out. Many graduate because of determination and great hunger for success in their futures in order to make themselves and families proud.
College Senior 2013-05-25T23:37:55Z
Always crowded in the morning. But you can always find a parking spot as you move towards either end of the parking lot.

I did receive some fin aid, but was told that my FAFSA was received too late to be considered for institutional aid. However, I had met the priority deadline. I think I was skipped over :-/
And like any other college, they like to nickel and dime you to death with lots of little fees etc that aren't always well explained. Making an appt with a fin aid officer is a good idea. Just stopping in the student center is a pain.

Living on campus is great. You have the opportunity to socialize more with different people and meet new people of different races and ethnicities. The security of students in the Neil Complex is ok because you have to swipe your buckeye id card in order to access the building. However, anyone can enter the building if they have a card so be careful about lending your card to anyone.

Parking is terrible. I live on-campus and you would think that I would at least have a better chance of finding a parking spot. Wrong answer. I did not buy a permit because the cost is insane and I can use that money to pay for my books and use towards gas. Even if you buy a permit, you're not guaranteed to get a decent parking spot because of the other 28 million students that attend OSU that also have a car to park. My advice would be to get a bike and hook it to a tree and go to class.

If you're ever pulling an all-nighter which you probably will, try to study in the SEL 24 hour library. At least they have a "cafeteria" per se if you get hungry but tht=ey close at 11:00pm throughout the week and at 8pm on the weekends. The food is ok. It's mainly sandwiches, chips cookies, fruit etc. I recommend to bring your own food because at times they'll run out of certain foods that you may like or not have any in stock at times. Great smoothies and shakes.

They are everywhere and easy to find an open one. Some labs have macs and some have PC.

Health & Safety:
I don't feel unsafe on campus, but off campus can be dangerous at times.
College Junior 2013-05-21T19:26:32Z
Campus is huge, and it snows often but class is never cancelled- even when everything else in the city is.

The COTA is terrible, but it is free and pretty convenient. The CABS buses are great for the campus area. The SSS is awesome for late nights when nothing else is running. Taxi services are pretty good in Columbus too. They're always fast and friendly.
College Sophomore 2013-05-21T03:58:27Z
Varsity athletes at OSU get the best treatment from other students and faculty from what I see. The school spirit is a huge thing on campus and all around Columbus. The teams always seem to perform magnificently.

The majority of this university is white, although there are a good amount of international students as well.

Great dining options around campus. Lots of healthy options if you want to avoid the Freshman 15 and large variety of meals and places to eat.
College Sophomore 2013-05-20T20:33:21Z
Sports at Ohio State are huge, we have a massive fan base and outstanding school spirit. Not to mention amazing teams.
College Sophomore 2013-05-20T20:25:18Z
Parking on campus is convenient, most of the parking lots are right on campus. However, the price of an anual parking ticket is very high.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
