The Off-Campus Dining is awesome. There's tons of options on High Street and the main streets right around Campus where it is possible to get good food for not-too-bad prices. Additionally, there's lots of great places to order food from and have it delivered to both on and off-campus housing!

Some of the Off-Campus Housing at OSU is really nice, and some of it is...not so nice. It really depends on the location and who lived in the house before you. A lot of the housing is a little outdated too, but the University is working to renovate many of those units, which are very nice once done.

Athletics at OSU are HUGE. They are one of the main attractions for people on and off campus in Columbus. We are a Division I school with amazing sports teams and tons of school spirit because of this. Additionally, there are plenty of club teams appropriate for people passionate about all kinds of sports that have many active participants. Athletics in general are a huge part of life here at Ohio State.

There are a lot of off campus housing options in the Victorian Village, Short North, German Village, Grandview, etc. Apartment rates are reasonable and sizes are really great. The one negative to living off campus is that parking passes are expensive and finding a good parking spot is tough. However, the COTA bus system is really great and goes pretty much everywhere, so getting to class that way is a great option.

Columbus is a mix of college town & downtown, which is awesome. The campus area has lots to do and a lot of places to eat and hang out while just south of campus there is the downtown area with even MORE to do such as museums, sporting events and fun restaurants and bars.

If you are from out of state or country, you might want to get accustomed to the bipolar nature here at Ohio State. It'll be 60 degrees one day and then 15 degrees and snowing the next.

The computers aren't terrible, but I've found there are few printers that are accessible in each building, you have to walk a while, also, it takes a bit to get on the internet through wireless access.

There are many things to do here at night. High Street is pretty alive at night, and there are a fair amount of things to do.

OSU is home to many people of many races, ethnicities, socioeconomic statues, and just overall different types of people.

They throw lots of parties, and do lots of philanthropy work, but I don't participate in it.

Being a mathematics major, it is important to keep in touch with your academic advisor. They will also reach out to you, and the communication route is very easy. The math department will also reach out with extra-circulur activities such as attending special meetings, seminars, or workshops. The department invest in each and everyone's success the same, it is up to the student to invest back.

The weather in Columbus, Oh can get extremely cold to extremely hot, and everything in between. The weather can also be unpredictable at times. It wouldn't be uncommon to see a nice monday with the degrees approaching 70, and then a cold wednesday or Thursdays with degrees nearing the lower 40s.

Athletics are huge. Whether it is from student/fan support or involvement. Nothing says college fun like sports at Ohio State. Their are plenty of intramural sports for students to participate in, as well as gatherings to watch the variety sports. Not to mention our recreational and training facility, the RPAC, which houses several different sports, from basketball, and swimming to squash and golf, and training equipment for the average person just looking for a workout.

Ohio State is filled with plenty of majors with dedicated departments and teaching staff supporting them. The professors provide great teaching and are open for student interaction for more understanding. There are also a team of teacher assistants for each department and course, as well as a legion of study groups ranging from inside the classroom, the library, the departments, and even inside the dormitory.

There's a lot of choices for everyone. Price wise, mostly everything is cheap. Columbus is a college town, so they except cheap customers.
College Sophomore 2013-02-08T05:49:31Z
A lot of the nightlife is for people 21 years and older, but there are plenty of parties to attend if you're into that sort of thing. The Ohio Union normally has free movies, or you can go see a movie at the Gateway for $6.50 (student discount). There's something for everybody.

There's always a lot to do in Columbus. It's a great city. Since downtown C-Bus is only a 10 minute bus ride down the street, it's easy to get to shows, and great dining locations. Ohio State has a discounted tickets program which is really helpful if you want to go to concerts, shows or local attractions like the zoo or skyzone. Shopping is a pretty far away, but it's worth the bus drive.

Guys & Girls:
There are so many people, you're bound to find someone you click with, just beware of the frat boys... For every good guy we have about 20 sleazy ones...

There is basically anything you could ever possible want. Ohio State is huge, one of the benefits of this is that we have a ton of options for food.

The weather here is so unpredictable. It's February and within the same week we've had a high of 56 and a low of 23. It's ridiculous. However, the summers are beautiful and fall is always nice too. Winter is just too long.

Health & Safety:
West campus feels unsafe at times especially when it is dark. Need more lights by the buildings and on the paths

I am an Fine Arts major and all i can say is that it can be really stressful. I find myself putting in A LOT of hours into projects. But I do enjoy it. The assignments are compelling enough to keep me interested (most of the time). The staff is very hands-on, and want to help. It is a lot of work though, and if you want a good grade, you're going to have to put in time.

Health & Safety:
I feel safe here at OSU. There are lots of helpful reminders about safety. We have the Student Safety Escort Service which is open late and can drop you off at your dorm or apartment if you don't feel safe walking home in the dark. The only negatives are that we are located in an urban area, so thefts do happen. And there is a lot of traffic that flows through campus, so people occasionally get hit by cars.
College Sophomore 2013-02-06T02:32:22Z
The people who pledge love it, but those who don't just like to go to their great parties. So if you want to party, pledge; if you want to make a difference, volunteer by yourself.
College Sophomore 2013-02-06T02:31:08Z
The parking is quite expensive and causes students not to want to bring cars to campus. Even though there are some free parking spots- if you dont pay close attention to the signs you may get towed.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
