The food on campus is okay. The dining facilities on south campus are much better than those on north campus. If you're on north campus it gets a little difficult because you don't want to go all the way to south campus all the time, but you also get sick of the options on north campus so you often end up ordering food.

OSU is not extremely diverse on its own, but it does a great job of making sure everyone who attends feels welcomed and accepted.

Haven't had much experience but positive experience

If you are underage the options for nightlife are pretty limited unless you go to frat parties.

Parking is ok but you have to get a permit, which is expensive. Ticketing and fines are overboard.

The food is very good and you have a lot of options. Unfortunately most aren't healthy.

The Honors and Scholars Department is too strict about what classes you take and make you alter your contract every time you take a class you haven't written down in your contract. This means that when new classes are made or if you take a course equivalent of your projected class you have to go through a painful process of altering your contract.

It was very easy to get into my major, I was given an adviser right away. She's been wonderful in helping me adjust from my old school into this one. The most important criteria is just making sure that you get admitted into the school. There aren't any extra hoops that you have to jump through.

So far I have been very happy with the Theatre program. My major adviser has been so helpful in making my transfer into the program as smooth as possible. She's always emailed and called back quickly. I want to work behind the scenes in tv and movies and she's making sure that all of my classes will get me to that goal without wasting any of my time.

I'm still trying to get financial aid but it has been a struggle so far.

I believe that Ohio State has some of the best traditions in the country. They also have one of the biggest base of alumni in the country. No matter where you are you can always find a Buckeye fan.

Nightlife at Ohio State is fantastic. On campus there are always parties to go to and, if you're over 21, plenty of bars. Off campus, you can explore the great city of Columbus, with tasty restaurants, incredible shopping, and 18+ bars that let you have the night club/dancing experience!

At Ohio State Greek Life isn't a necessity. Many people join, but also there are a lot of people that don't join as well.

Many of Ohio State's facilities are very nice. The work out centers and pools are amazing and newly renovated within the last ten years. There are many different places to study; from the libraries to the union.

The biggest thing that I would say campus security is strict about is underage drinking/public intoxication. Walking around campus inebriated is not a smart decision because there are always cops (both camps and city!) that are not afraid to take action. This is not necessarily a bad thing, because their presence has made it so I have never felt unsafe around campus, but it is definitely something you have to keep in mind while making your weekend plans.

I had a very difficult time getting aid/scholarships through Ohio State. I applied for several different scholarships but your options were pretty limites if you didn't get a 30 or higher on your ACT. I received some loans which I opted out of taking, but overall I was very disappointed with their financial aid services.

Greek Life at Ohio State is prevalent but not a necessity. They definitely play a big part in the social scene (there is always a Greek party to go to, on any weekend) and they participate in some great service projects, but there are so many different way to get involved at Ohio State that going Greek will not make or break your social life. Ohio State also offers a number of professional fraternities in various fields that are a great way to make friends in your chosen career path and let you have some fun while learning about different opportunities you can take advantage of.

Classic Ohio weather. Growing up in Ohio, I was used to having a sunny 65 one day and needing my boots and a coat the next, but it can definitely be a nuisance when walking across such a big campus. I have learned to check the weather every morning before class or work and always have an umbrella with me!

Coming from a high school with absolutely no diversity, it was nice to come to OSU and meet people from many different religions and races. However, the majority of the school is still white, but there are many resources, clubs, events, etc. that expose students to the diversity present in our school.

Health & Safety:
I have never felt unsafe at Ohio State, even when walking across campus at night. The entire school is very well lit, and OSU also provides a service where, in the event that you do not feel comfortable walking by yourself, they will send a car to come and transport you to where you need to be.

All the facilities at Ohio State seem to be top notch. Classrooms are all up to date, libraries are unbelievable. The RPAC, Arc, and 3 other rec facilities are all amazing as well. OSU has got it

The facilities are great and majority of them are new or renovated. Most building are well insulated which helps tremendously in the winter and summer months.

Ohio State is a very lenient campus. They are strict about underage drinking and drug use but what school isn't. For the most part they give you the privacy and leniency to do what you want as long as you do not abuse the leniency they give.
Recent Alumnus 2012-12-22T15:45:57Z
The weather is inconsistent which can be bad or good. Typically it is the worse when we are on winter break so students are not too effected. However if it does get bad while classes are still in session, it has to be like the blizzard of "89" before they cancel classes.

Living on campus can be a great experience if you are placed in the right dorms such as the Towers or Neil Avenue dorms. South campus dorms are were the fun is but they are not as clean and new as the others mentioned
Sorry, there are no reviews.
