classes are too tough after the switch to semesters

It depends on if you have a permit or not and how good that permit is. If you do and it is for a close lot, then it is great, but for lower ranking students you have to park very far away and catch a bus to campus.

Guys & Girls:
There are a plethora of different types of people at Ohio State. There are frat guys, alternative ones, athletes and anything you can think of. The girls can be sorority sisters, indie, or athletes as well. Anyone can fit in at Ohio State with the diversity it has.

Health & Safety:
There were some safety issues at the beginning of this semester: there was a series of criminal activity on and around campus. However, that seems to have stopped. I personally have never felt threatened on or around campus. Also, there were a lot of accidents involving bikers and pedestrians. Ohio State did do a good job responding to those issues though: lately I've seen much more campus police and new warning lights and signs have been added in the busier crossings.

There are lots of dorms to chose from and they seem to be relatively safe. I do think that the dorms are kind of pricey but I guess the convenience of being right on campus outweighs that.

Nice dining halls but the switch to semesters caused OSU to charge people too much for their mealplans: everyone seems to have extra swipes left that expire before next semester

It is so hard to find a place to park, and it costs a fortune for a pass, but the bus system is great, so it evens out.

Health & Safety:
There are always police available to escort you to your cars if you feel unsafe. There are also call stations placed everywhere on campus that make it easy to call for help. I always feel safe on campus and never feel like I will be in trouble.

Being a student of OSU, I have discovered that there are many different students with many backgrounds. Many international students find OSU to be the best place to come to because there are many others from their same country. There are many different groups people can join based on religion, political beliefs, and sexual orientation. Some come from privileged families while others are paying for college on their own.

The professors are so willing to help and make the content easy to understand. I have never felt behind and I am actually doing really well in subjects I struggled in high school with. The professors know what they are teaching and are never confused. If the do not know the answer they are willing to find it.

Ohio State is a beautiful campus! There is so much that I can explain pertaining to this question.
The Oval is the main outdoors for the campus and you will see people jogging, playing frisbee, suntanning, and holding clubs and events. The main library is incredible and it comes with such an awesome atmosphere (if you ever get the chance, go to the top floor and look out onto the campus. The view is INCREDIBLE!)
Campus traditions are fun and energetic! Get-togethers around Mirror Lake pulsate the Buckeye Spirit.
The heart of the campus, the Ohio Union, is a state of the art building that fills very homy and comfortable. It is housed with a coffee shop, plenty of studying areas, 3 restaurants, and much much more.
There is so much to explain but to simplify everything, the student life at this university is one of a kind and simply incredible!

Campus strictness is very reasonable. If you do anything loud and obnoxious, you are obviously going to get busted, especially if you are bothering other students.
Because of this, there is not a huge stress level with the police and what police officers I have talked to have been very nice and friendly. I have seen some students do some pretty stupid stuff and were caught. Some of those students that were caught either were in danger of being suspended or were suspended.
College Freshman 2012-12-17T23:23:20Z
Drinking is heavy around Football season and with that, depending on the crowd you hang out with, peer pressure can be reasonable.
Drug visibility is rather low and the only drug usage that I have observed has been on North High Street which is one of the main roads that is right outside of OSU.
I tend to avoid the parties and the Football games since my goal is doing my schoolwork and because of that, I avoid the alcohol and all of the drama that tends to go with it.
College Freshman 2012-12-17T23:15:44Z
Parking is pretty expensive but you are always guaranteed to find a parking spot. With the campus being rather large, their are plenty of parking spots to chose from.
College Sophomore 2012-12-17T20:11:56Z
Drug and alcohol rules are enforced if you are caught in a residence hall, but they are unlikely to catch you. The police enforce open containers on front lawns occasionally but generally you are fine off campus. It is very easy to avoid drinking though. I have many friends who don't drink but still hang out with those who do! People often enjoy others who don't drink or do drugs!
College Sophomore 2012-12-17T20:09:05Z
I don't ever ride campus busing but the COTA bus is very easy to navigate and you ride for free with your student ID!

Health & Safety:
We have a rather large health center. Anyone can go there is they are not feeling well. The safety is negotiable. We have had several incidents in the past off campus that went on every night for a few weeks. It was really scary, but the school apparently worked to make the off campus areas safer after dark. Only time will tell if that actually works.

Some landlords are willing to work with you on any issues, and some just do not care at all; they just want your money. I have found that off-campus housing has some very unfair prices. Some people pay so much to live in a piece of junk.
College Sophomore 2012-12-17T16:44:00Z
Parking on campus, like any school, is expensive. But I've never heard of anyone having a hard time finding a spot. Freshman aren't allowed to have cars and even the off-campus housing options are so close that most people walk everywhere.
College Sophomore 2012-12-17T16:32:39Z
I like it because there are a lot of options in many corners of campus. Unfortunately, I didn't like the location closest to my dorm and the food there got old really fast.

Health & Safety:
I haven't had a bad experience but plenty of people have stories of their own personal thefts or sketchy moments. I generally feel safe but am cautious.
College Senior 2012-12-17T03:00:04Z
I wouldn't really recommend living off campus. There is a-lot of unreported crime that takes place off campus. Some of the living is nice and some isn't. Housing price ranges from $350+. Ofcourse it is cheaper, but you gotta be careful when selecting housing.

I'am happy with my major program. I'am a transfer and an Operations Management in the business school. Once I graduate I plan to hopefully continue onto graduates school to further my education.
College Senior 2012-12-17T02:48:38Z
The business program is really good, but its really competitive. They offer a lot of preparation for the real world.
College Senior 2012-12-17T02:46:29Z
The computer lab in the library is great. I usually never have trouble getting a computer when in need. There are also computers located throughout the library and in computer labs in your Major business that you can use.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
