It can be a little rough just off campus and late at night it is in downtown Columbus.

The Campus Area Bus System(CABS) is always running and stops at every stop. There are four different routes to take you anywhere on campus. They run about every 5 minutes. The COTA bus also runs on campus so you can go off campus if you wish too, but can be unreliable at times.

The Ohio State Marching Band is the best band that you can ever see.

Guys & Girls:
I live on North Campus, aka the non-partying side. and I figured there would be plenty of nice guys over here. And nice isn't the problem- most of them are engineering, anti-social hermits who play video games all day.

The variety is pretty good, but only if you are on one of the block meal plans. The traditional meal plan has very limited options- only the main dining halls on campus and if you want to go to a good place, it is far depending on where you live.

It gets really expensive and parking is a massive disaster. The tow trucks in Columbus are psychotic and love to tow if you manage to park where you shouldn't. Also, living east of High street can be kind of dangerous as it is a very urban area.

Wireless Very Unrelaible – It is very hard to get a wireless connection if you are not in a building. So if i wanted to do my homework on the oval, i would have to sit in a very precise spot in order to get a signal.

Pretty Good – The fans are definitely the most obnoxious (in a good way) that i have ever experienced. and the sports teams are very good. however, a lot of the club sports cost a lot of money, making it hard to students not on scholarships to afford to play.

Labs Are Generally Crowded – The computer labs at Thompson and SEL libraries are generally crowded after classes generally let out and during conventional studying hours, but the turnover is typically fast. If you know which printer you're printing to, then printing isn't a huge problem - unless there's a line. It hasn't happened to me too often that I've had to wait to print, but when it has, it's been very frustrating.
At Ohio State, you really don't need a computer to take to class. I found that mine was too heavy to lug around to each class, so I just wrote my notes down. Our online assignment system, Carmen, can be accessed from any computer and quiz and assignment times are usually available for days or even weeks depending on the time window given so if you're on top of your schoolwork, you can easily just go to the computer lab and crank out your assignments.

Lots of Opportunity – As an English major, you get more flexibility in choosing classes, and can even easily double major and graduate on time. The workload isn't too terrible if you don't mind reading about 100 pages a night on average. I'm very satisfied with my degree choice and am constantly bombarded with e-mails from the Department of English about job fairs and workshops. We have a lot of resources at our disposal. Ohio State is such a big school, but various Creative Writing and Journalism clubs make it small. There's even the English Undergraduate Organization (EUGO) and the English academic fraternity.

Drinking Really Is More Popular – I am friends with people who choose drinking over drugs, so I have a skewed version.

Health & Safety:
I Feel Very Safe – I, personally, have never felt threatened while on campus. They do a very good job by having Columbus police cruise around and the campus security walk around. They also have emergency/security phones EVERYWHERE on campus, so if you happen to find yourself alone later on at night while walking from class, you can press a button and a security officer will be there to escort you in a very, timely fashion.

Love It! There are so many places to choose from. All are very, very delicious. You can go anywhere on campus and either be in the same building as some kind of dining service, next to a building with dining services or near High Street (where all the other food ie. Panera, McDonalds are located). The convenient thing about Ohio State, you have a BuckID which is used as a credit card in different food venues along High St. You're only limited by the distance you feel like walking, IF you choose to walk!

Absolutely Terrible – The parking in columbus in general is awful. Campus is inexcusably barren on parking. And the tow trucks around are just WAITING to tow you can cost you at least $200.

So far, I have never heard negative in this area. I plan to study abroad in Ireland soon, and Ohio State has been nothing short of helpful so far!
