There Are a Lot of Places to Eat – The surrounding areas have an abundance of choices of places to eat. They have your gerneral strip malls and a cinema 10 movies theatre. The good thing about the campus I am on is you can drive 1 hour in either direction N,S, E, W and you are in a big city where there is anything you want that big cities have to offer ie.. shopping malls, museums, amusement parks, etc.

This School Does Have an Over Abundance of Agriculture Majors – Due to the fact this school is heavy in agriculture, there is an exceptional amount of caucasional individuals. It appears that most are rednecks and honky tonkers. It gives the apperance that the students are of less intellegence than would be found at other colleges. When that is not the truth. OSU has a wonderful Vetenarian program and Nursing prgram, both which reuire a GPA of 3.2 or higher to continue.

Food Is Amazing! The campus offers tons of varieties in eating choices, along with hotspots for food all over the campus. Tons of eatery places provide food in respect to special religious obligations for certain students. While without a doubt the food tastes absolutely spectacular.

The weather in ohio is drastic and changes frequently, usually through the course of one day. If its snowing one minute, it'll be absolutely snow free and wonderful the next. Snowing affects travel time in getting to class especially since the campus is already crowded. But don't let it phase you, as in the fall and spring the campus has an absolute rustic, calm and beautiful feel thats pleasant for studying, chilling or partying :)))

Limited Parking – If you live on campus, parking isn't really an issue and you can walk to most of your classes. The COTA is free for students with a BuckID and there is the university bus system as well if your classes are too far to walk. But commuting is a pain. A parking pass is very expensive and you still can't park most of the places that are closest to class.

Lots of Choices – There are plenty of places to eat by campus. It's a huge campus, and there are restaurants lining the streets. If you have a car there are plenty of paces to drive nearby as well. With your BuckID it's very likely you'll get some sort of discount anywhere you go.

My biggest problem with Ohio State is its lack of ethnic/racial diversity. Many native Ohio students view the university as very diverse, but I have to disagree. The university seems almost all white to me, and the outreach towards minority groups is almost inexistant. There is some racial tension between the races, sometimes, especially considering recent events on campus, which is something that students are working towards solving but have a far way to go.

Greek life at OSU has never been a historically large part of the social scene because there are so many other things to do - imagine 30% of 40,000 undergraduates as Greeks! There are so many other opportunities to be a part of a group that many students don't feel the need to join Greek life - however, those that do seem to love it. The classes have been expanding lately as the Greek community reaches out to the rest of the school.

Psychology/ Criminology. I am a third year double major in criminology and psychology, I LOVE IT. The sociology department has very knowledgeable staff, as well as the psychology department. All of the professors I have come across love to help students and really have a passion for what they are doing. If I could do it all again, I would definitely pick OSU for my pre-law study!

Not a Huge Car School – You don't really need a car for main campus. I have heard from friends that west campus is a hard parking place.

Profs Help Push Towards Undergrad Thesis – A few of the professors here at OSU have really helped push me towards furthering my academic career by pursuing an Undergrad Research Thesis. They have helped me enroll as a Mentor for the Peer Assisted Student Support program, I am now the Vice President of the Psychology Club, and I have begun meeting with my Adviser for my Research Thesis. They have supported my journey and have introduced me to other programs that will help set me apart from other students applying to Grad School. My professor has encouraged me to join SURI (Summer Undergrad Research Institute) in Columbus, OH to network with other research students and to form a support group. The curriculum for Psychology is tough, especially with the Quarter to Semester conversion, but the professors are always really helpful to guide the students to where they need to go. The academic advisers are not as helpful, but the professors are always there.

Pretty Good Food – There a lot of different places off campus that are easily accessible to students. They range in cuisine from fast food to pizza to chinese to indian to steak houses, etc. There are also a lot of places that are willing to deliver to students as well.

Lots of Heterosexual White Students – There are a lot of different races and religions represented at OSU but it predominately white. The university tries to make itself seem very diverse but in reality, its not. it seems like a good majority of students are not open to different politcal views, religions, sexual identities, or sexual orientations.

Big City – The campus is located just north of Downtown Columbus, with so much to do that is close to campus one would never get bored. There is gallery hop in the short north, wonderful restaurants and restaurant week (3 course meals for $15-25), and local art life and summer festivals. No professionals sports teams except hockey but a minor league baseball team and of course OSU football.

Typical, Lots of Options – The places around campus are good always a dining facility close to classes no matter where you are on campus. After freshman year most people don't buy the dining plan so one is not bad.

Drinking Is Common – Most people at OSU do partake in drinking the campus is located next to high street where many bars are across the street.

Athletics are amazing at Ohio State. The varsity teams here are some of the best in the nation. Also, we have access to some of the best training facilities and a variety of club and intramural sports.
College Junior 2012-05-21T21:15:16Z
Coming Back Strong – More people at OSU need to join Greek life-while it is not essential because OSU is such a big school and there is always so much going on, it enhances the experience so much.

Lots of Options! There is everything from burgers to hummus and pita. Sometimes it is hard to find veggie options, but there are a lot available. The fast food place I work at serves Veggie burgers and subs.
Off campus is where the real selection is. High street is full of mediterranean, istanbul, pizza, sandwiches, burgers, subs, mexican, italian, breakfast, indian, cajun, donuts, you name it!
The meal plan will get slightly more expensive with the semester 'Block' plan conversion. So it'll be about $7-10 for one block/swipe.
Food prices overall are $5.50 or more for a meal, sides aren't that expensive at all.

I attend an Ohio State regional campus at Mansfield, Oh. Here there are approximately 1600 undergrad students. Majority are white, however, there are several student ran organizations that promotes diversity. These groups consist of minority students and the support for these groups is pretty well received.

Cota Buses, Security Cars – The Cota buses are available to all students at Ohio State University with you school card. You can also receive security cars when it is late and the buses do not run. All you have to do is swipe your ID card and it is free.
College Junior 2012-05-12T02:00:03Z
Apartments Are Moderately Priced – Many of the apartments are available for students who do not get into the dorms. Many students stick to the outskirts of the campus. Ohio State University is such a huge campus that the buses make it easy to move around so it's easy to find an affordable apartment.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
