The nightlife at OSU is pretty much like the nightlife at any other big school. There are a TON of house parties on the weekend and even on weekdays. 90% of the parties you can get into buy the frat parties tend to be a bit more selective (for guys at least). If you want to drink, you can certainly drink. If you don't want to drink at a house party you don't have to but most everyone does. House parties are generally in the neighborhoods that surround campus and it can be quite a walk to get to them. On any given Friday or Saturday night you will see thousands of students walking up and down High Street and in the neighborhoods jumping from party to party.

Wireless Access – The wireless system at OSU is excellent. I have a laptop so I rarely find a need to leave my dorm room to do any computing. I've never had a problem with the wireless being down. The only problem is that you constantly have to log yourself back into the wireless system at least once a day if not more. This isn't really a problem but rather a hassle because I like to have my email constantly updating and when I close my laptop or if I leave it sitting for too long, I have to log back into the wireless and wait for everything to reconnect.

Not Too Bad – I don't think you would really need a car at Ohio State, unless you're a commuter or live a ways off campus, since there's a pretty expansive bus system. If you do use a car, the Union and Arps Hall garages are usually ok. If you park in a visitor spot however, you have to be careful because the campus police are pretty strict as far as pass times go.

Pretty Decent. The food is always good, and they do have a reasonable variety of food choices, especially at the Union. However, eating just in dining halls for 9 months can get pretty repetitive, so I suggest using grocery swipes in places like the Marketplace on Neil, where you can get brand name foods you would eat at home.

Lots of Options – Whether you're trying to print something at Ohio State, or trying to find a computer to use on campus, there's no shortage of technological options available. With numerous libraries on campus, and the Pharos printing system that let's you print to any printer on campus, Ohio State makes anything computer related convenient.

Health & Safety:
Aside from the random robberies off campus, I feel very safe.

Ohio Is Cold – I'm not a big fan of cold weather and in the winter, Ohio gets cold and it snows a good amount. Classes NEVER get cancelled unless there is a freak blizzard.

OSU football is a religion in the entire state of Ohio.

RPAC & Union – The gym and the new student union building are the two most populated building with the best of facilities

Beer Pong – I haven't had a lot of encounters with drugs, but I'm assuming the the most widespread drug use would be in marijuana. Alcohol and parties are definitely the more preferred choices.

Guys & Girls:
Go Bucks! So I'm originally from Maryland where popped collars and polos are the norm. OSU was pretty different from what I was used to. There not really a unique style that you can call "Midwest". The social life is great. People definitely like to have a good time, especially during football season!

High St. High St. has every restaurant you could ever want to eat at. Prices range from low to average. It is just across from campus

There are tons of nigh life opportunities. The only bad part is there have been some armed robberies around campus lately.

Computers are everywhere at OSU and wireless abounds. We all use our phones, iPads, etc plus computer labs. It's great!

There are a ton of options just steps away on High Street. All the chain restaurants and a few locally owned are there in all food genres. The Gateway Center has a lot of choices just in it. The student union has lots of choices as well.

Pretty Good – Better than most schools, lots of options and different dining places, but of course not home cooked food

Health & Safety:
Be Careful – I get tons of alerts about muggings and robberies off campus. If you go out at night, go in a group. Safety around campus is pretty good, just don't go out too late at night.

It's Ok – Some of the housing is in a safe neighborhood but most of the areas are kind of sketchy. There is a large variety available and costs vary from place to place. Most of the landlords I have talked to seem to be nice and helpful.

Confusing at Some Times – My university is so diverse and big which is a good thing to other but hard for others. I am somewhere on the hard side. I've been here for 3 months and its beein pretty hard to find people with my interest or to even bond with. I can say i have really one friend. I dont even bond with my roomates. I dont know if its me or not. Also, with the stress of tuition and fees I have got discouraged at the beginning of my terms and the end. Its still alot I have to find out about this school....i just hope it get better by spring.

Two Words: High Street – High Street is where all the off campus dining related restraunts are at.There are so many restraunts privately own and chains. Many of the restraunts let us use our buckeye I.D to purchase food which is very convient instead of using paper money. Each having student discounts or monthly discounts when we use our buckeye to make a purchase.

I would say there is a very diverse population, but recently we have started to become the new china town

OSU is a pretty safe place to be, and the administrators expect the highest of all the students. BUT, that doesn't mean that they don't know what we do. Take Mirror Lake Jump (before the big Michigan game,) though the university does not promote it, they are providing EMT's incase of any emergencies that may occur. They love us here!

Off Campus Food – Columbus is a huge food city- so you literally have endless options when it comes to dining. Plus, almost everywhere takes your Buck I.D or gives you a discount for showing it. There are run of the mill places like Wendy's, OSU holes like Buck I Donuts and then there are higher end places like sushi houses.

The athletic centers are top notch, and in great areas accessible to all. Same thing goes with the libraries, which offer countless amounts of resources and study space. The campus as a whole is amazing, and there is always something to do, or some place that you haven't yet gone.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
