Plenty of parking, it's just all over the place because of the HUGE campus. You have to get to class early because parking can fill up quick. Parking isn't too expensive, its a good price. The only problems would be a full parking lot close to a particular building you wanted to be by.

There are tons of apartments and housing close by. The university area has become a lot safer over the years.

Off Campus – There are many dining options nearby. My favorites are Panera, McDonalds, BW3, Wendy's and Chipotle. You can use your BuckID card for convenience. Cost is fine with student discounts available.

The weather is like a tipical midwest state, but a little warmer. Being from Iowa there was not much change going to Ohio. The only difference I noticed is that Columbus doesn't have as bad of winters as Iowa.

The athletics at Ohio State are off the chart! As a student-athlete myself at Ohio State, the athletics and athletic department is amazing! They care about the athletes well-being, and the students/fans experience. They are always improving things to increase the experience for not only the athletes but the fans.

The facilities and campus are amazing! The level of opportunity at The Ohio State University is limitless! If for some reason the university doesn't have what you need to better yourself. They will find it and get it for you. Along with being a fantastic university, the workload and classes are not easy. Ohio State wants its degree to hold a high stature in the working world. Professors and departments expect a lot out of the students, but at the same time there tons of resources to help you. LOVE OSU!! I bleed scarlet and grey!

Health & Safety:
Student safety on campus is very important to OSU. Emergency buttons are located throughout campus. Student Safety Services offers free rides to the campus and some surrounding housing areas via Campus Escort. I feel very safe to walk alone on campus, but I wouldn't recommend it at night. I'll ride the bus or the escort service.
OSU also offers an emergency alert system though every students cell phone and email to keep everyone updated during an emergency.

While OSU is located in a very urban area, the school itself is pretty isolated. There is a lot to do on campus because of its size and access to opportunity. Shopping is great, with Easton and Polaris malls a short bus ride away.

Lots of Options – There are obviously tons of off-campus housing options when you're right in a city like Columbus.

Not Much Room – The dorms are extremely cramped my freshman year but there are always people to hang out with.

OK but Not as Good as Home – There are a lot of good places right off campus that accept the BuckID so that is nice. The food is okay but it's incomparable to a home cooked meal.

Ohio State has an outstanding amount of student clubs and organizations. These clubs showcase the amount of diversity the university offers. There is literally something for everyone. It seems like everyday, some group has a table set up on campus, giving away free food so they can talk to you about their cause for a few minutes. Also, the student involvement fair in the fall allows not only the incoming freshmen, but also upperclassmen the large amount if clubs and organization that are just waiting to take on new members.

Dorm Life – I lived on South Campus in the high rise dorms, and it was the best decision I have ever made! It was close to the middle of campus, dining places, and shopping/restaurants too. I met a lot of great people living in the dorms, and wouldn't trade the experience for the world! However, a downside was the lack of air conditioning. Also, the bathrooms/rooms could stand a bit of a makeover. But other than that, the dorms were a lot of fun and an essential part of the "freshmen experience"!

The policies are strickly enforced at my school, but they do have some bars on campus. if you are not 21 or older they will not serve you drinks and you will be kicked out if you buy drinks for anyone who is underage. I havent had to deal with much drug use, and it is also enforced very well.

Not Much – I do not have much of a night life at my school, just because I do not enjoy drinking or being around drinking.

I enjoy the food around campu very much. There is plenty of choices, so matter if you are craving french fries or oriental dishes, you will always have a happy stomach.

Buckeye Land! Perhaps the biggest place you could easily feel at home in; Columbus offers a little piece of everything, and more. The Ohio State University itself produces attraction world wide, football being one of their countless focuses. OSU is also always sponsoring activities for the youth to participate in (k-12), as well as events for partiers, art admirers, comedy enthusiasts, music lovers, and much more! Downtown Columbus offers incredible shopping, dining, history, activities, etc. Columbus brings you the "big-city" atmosphere while leaving the big-city congestion you would normally find in an area like NYC.

Exciting Sports and Great School – Everywhere in Columbus you will find at least 20 people talking about OSU football. It's a big part of Columbus and Ohio itself. We pride ourselves on being one of the best sports school here and having the best fans that anyone could ask for. Along with sports OSU is also a great school, with a huge campus. The students love being here and the people love calling OSU their home state school.

Very Helpful – In order to get into the college of Allied Medicine, I had to attend a meeting, on the college, and then sign up for a pre-health science major. Everything was explained very well. I was able to ask individual questions, given handouts, and given an academic counselor in that college. I now have to meet the pre-reqs, and then apply to my major.

Where Should I Study? There are many popular study areas offered at Ohio State. Thompson Library is the most popular, and is beautiful at night, with an incredible view of downtown Columbus from the 11th floor. Be sure to get there early during exam time though, as it is often crowded.

Always Something Going on – There is always something going on in Columbus. There is Ohio State and several small colleges. One of my favorite places to go is to the short North. It is very modern and has all kinds restaurants, and galleries. There are also several professional sports teams.

Transition to Semesters – OSU is currently transitioning from quarters to semesters (2012-2013), but all of the advisors are being very helpful to students whose majors are drastically changing. There are many majors to choose from and the Fisher College of Business is top-notch, so is OSU's medical.

There is plenty of help to access at anytime, and the academics at OSU are held to a higher standard, one of the reasons I am attending OSU.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
