Diverse, Art District – Ohio State's campus, and the surronding areas, or very diverse and there is much to do. Including the short north discrit, arena, and brewery district. Buckeye-nation is always fun since Ohio State football has it's own cult following.

Ohio state has one the best recreation centers for their student to use for exercise, intermural sports, etc. This is where student can use the rec to relieve stress from the classes. Also Ohio State is a very big sports school with attractions like football and basketball that allows student and alumni to come together to support their team.

Drug safety information is hyper-salient at OSU. Most people know how to manage their alcohol intake. Peer pressure isn't as controlling as it is at some other colleges.

Almost everyone at The Ohio State University is involved in athletics in some way. As most of you know, Ohio State is always a contender in just about every major sport, resulting in tremendous fan support. Ohio State has the largest on campus recreational center open most hours to all students.

Plenty of Options – The Ohio State University Columbus campus is surrounded on all sides by all sorts of restaurants. The variety is unrivaled, and most have very reasonable prices for the amount and quality of the food. This is very convenient for students on a budget, as well as students that don't have much time to eat.

Combination of Macs and Dells – OSU has many different computer centers. Many of the buildings have their own Computer labs, and Thompson Library has many as well. I've never had a bad experience with any of the computers I've used on campus. However, I mainly use my own laptop on campus. OSU provides decent technical support for student computers, which is a perk. The "Buckeye Bar" at Thompson library is available to assist students with computer issues for free during the day.

Diverse and Full of Opportunities – The Ohio State University campus definitely has whatever you're looking for. OSU has a huge selection of student organizations, intramural sports, and clubs to get involved with. On top of what OSU offers, the city of Columbus itself has many opportunities as well. Campus is right near the arts community, in the Short North and in Grandview.

I Hear That.. Off campus housing options are pretty broad in Columbus. If students don't decide to live in a dorm or reside at home they have choices of joining Young Life houses or leasing housing with a few roommates for reasonable prices. Leasing is around a year usually in areas that can be considered a little unsafe. They are close to campus and have lots of things to do around them. Like any downtown area, parking is a little tough but most things you need are close.

Health & Safety:
Definitely Safe! Each building requires a special I.D given at orientation to the student for the student to be able to enter and use the facility. If someone feels unsafe they can call campus security and be escorted or driven by the officers to their desired destination. There is security in most buildings, especially ones where there are a lot of students.

The professors at OSU will find a research opportunity for anyone who wants one. Not to mention, they spend over 750 million dollars per year on research alone.

Financial aid is few and far between since it is such a big school. Extra curriculars and good grades help.

Campus and city buses are free but sometimes are overcrowded or are late. Also, with lots of construction around campus you have to be careful that you're aware if the routes change. There are taxis available, an airport within 20 minutes, and a Greyhound station that is accessible via the city bus. On-campus transportation is provided if you are on crutches or otherwise disabled.
College Senior 2011-07-24T04:43:23Z
Parking permits are a little expensive and you can only have them as an upperclassman, freshman are not allowed to have cars. However, there isn't really a need to have a car on campus. City and campus buses are free to students and there are tons of taxis around if you'd rather take one of those.

Pretty Chill – Ohio State seems to understand that students are going to party, and we do. Extremely hard. campus police are relatively non-existant when it comes to shutting down parties.
College Senior 2011-07-22T17:55:33Z
Extremely Diverse – I've met so many different people and learned so much from all of them. There are so many international students and people from all over the country. The lgqbt group is pretty good too. Before coming to osu i knew maybe one gay person, now my best friend here is a lesbian.

Being an engineering major requires A TON OF WORK and dedication, and lots and lots of math. You will spend countless hours studying and your class load will be bigger then any of your friends since you'll be taking at least two lab classes a quarter. The professors are very helpful and there are so many opportunities on campus to get involved through engineering.

My first year at OSU went so well, I'm an out of state student who didn't know anyone. Now i have an awesome group of friends and I am involved with a few different clubs and a dance group. I had some mishaps, like changing my major and a nightmare of a roommate freshman year, but things all worked out wonderfully.

Great Work Environment – Ohio State offers such a great work environment with so many places to study and ways to get help with your studies. Between The Union, the SEL (science and engineering library) and the big library there is always some where quiet to study. Professors are very willing to help, there are many tutor services, plus the Younkin Success building provides classes and tips to help with study. Overall, OSU has an awesome hands on attitude and is dedicated to student's successes.
