Average, but Getting Better – Not being used to sharing a room made living in the dorms a lot harder. However, for being as big a school as Ohio State is, they do put every effort into making the dorms feel comfortable and homey. New renovations on the South Campus dorms as well as the addition of Lane Avenue housing should make living on campus easier in the future.

Health & Safety:
Safe, but Still in the Middle of a City – Being a big school in the middle of a city Ohio State has put a lot of security measures in place to make it as safe as possible. However, Columbus is still a big city and the campus is public, meaning anyone can walk around campus. During the day it's very safe, but it's probably not a bad idea to avoid walking alone at night and to follow all the basic safety procedures.

The School That Has Everything – If there is something I love most about Ohio State, it's that it has a lot of diversity in the classes offered. From Agriculture to Zulu, there is something for everyone. Additionally, the tradition of excellence claimed by the university is reflected in it's faculty and teaching staff as I've yet to encounter a professor or teaching assistant that was not dedicated to what they were teaching.

Mixed Bag – There are so many different races and religions at OSU. You can walk down the street and see everything.

There are so many food options. From greasy to fresh.

Do You Like Fish? There is nothing in the world like The Ohio State Universities Fisher College of Business. Students don't just look for jobs and internships but they are brought to you. Ohio State has top rated programs and teachers and provides the absolute best for its students.

Everyday is different at Ohio State. You necer know what exactly to expect. It so much fun and you can never get bored. There are always activities or parties to go to and the people there are some of the most amazing people you will ever mention. Not to mention we have one of the best college football teams in the country.

Weather at Ohio State is never the same. It could be snowing one week then extremely hot the next. There's lots of snow and no cancelled classes and the heat can be over bearing but after a while you will get used to it. Sunny hot days make it great to sit outside and study or just hang out.

Business Review – Like any major, Business is also one with a large workload. There are many gen ed classes that should not be required but they are. Overall, there are always things us business majors can get involved in and career fairs are always helpful. Faculty are very friendly and are always willing to help when asked. It is not like high school, in other woreds the professors will only help you when you ask. They won't try to contact you if they see your grades aren't where they are supposed to be. I strongly reccommend getting involved as well. I have had many opportunities and I am only a sophomore so i can only imagine the amazing things in store for me within the next few years.

Being part in a military fraternity I would say that the Greek life around Ohio State is rather large. It is seen as a fun atmosphere where all students are encouraged to join. The fraternities tend to just throw parties and invite primarily girls and unless you are a close friend to them they won't invite you.

Chemical Engineering Professors – The professors in the chemical engineering department are top of the line! They are all willing to help students and are all approachable. They even try to help you when it comes to getting research. They are the best around

Ohio State University, in my opinion, has one of the best sporting programs in the nation. The student interaction with in the sporting program is equal in it's participation as well as fan base. The intercollegiate sports at OSU Newark are also well supported and interacted in. The students are well informed when games are and the support is phenomenal. Most of the Ohio State teams have an excellent record to date, winning many championships.

Guys & Girls:
The social diversity at OSU Newark is very vast. The majority of the students reside or have graduated for surrounding high school. There are also a diverse ethnicity at the college. There is diverse languages that are spoken there also. The classes are taught in English, except the foreign language classes. The teachers are also diverse in ethnicity and languages spoken. Social life includes on site dorms, intercollegiate sports, and diversity clubs and major oriented clubs. On campus at OSU Newark the interrelationship of the students is that of common respect and mutual interaction.

Nursing Major – At Ohio State University there is a two year associates degree and also a four year bachelors degree. I am currently finishing my GEC requirements, i have two more classes to finish then I can apply for Nursing School. I am taking 15 credit hours per quarter. The college is planning to switch to semesters in autumn 2012. I go to the Newark, Ohio campus. The campus is located 3 minutes from my home. My plan is to finish my associates degree then find a nursing job and return to finish my bachelors degree. I am also double majoring in Psychology. After you finish your associates degree you are able to apply to the OSU Hospital for employment.

Good....For the Most Part – Ohio state offers loads of classes and ways to take them (independent study, online, etc.) But certain departments are horrible and they have yet to do anything about it. The chemistry department being one of them. Most of their professors are using outdated material, and the average grade in those classes are usually D's or E's. They have to curve an extreme amount so that not everyone fails.

Keep on Top of Things – My parents were able to pay my tution for the undergraduate courses. But, I still had to make sure that I paid the tution on time with out being fined. So, either with finacial aid or with out I had to keep checking to see everything is running soomthly.

Very Strict With Academic Policies – One thing that the professors really enforce is cheating during exams. At OSU the final exams are conducted with the whole undergraduate class which could range from 150-200 people taking similar exams. So, professors and TA are always looking for people who could be cheating. Therefore, I suggest just to study for the exam instead of being expled from the college.

Fun Experience – OSU being located in the heart of downtown columbus has many events that happen every day. It is also considered to be one of the biggest campuses in all of US, so there is always some event that happens every day. The local atmosphere on campus is very inviting, where most of the students are helpful if there is a problem. Overall, the college is a great place to not only get good education but also to enjoy life by attending all the events that occur almost every day.

Wireless Is Awesome – Campus has done a really good job with making sure wireless is available just about anywhere you go. The one thing they could improve on is the functionality of the computer labs. The labs in high traffic areas such as the union are in tip top shape, while the ones in dorms and lesser buildings are always breaking down or having printer issues.
College Senior 2011-06-01T15:00:41Z
Good but Not Outstanding – There are quite a handful of places off campus, however there is a severe lack of food options for vegetarians and vegans. Almost every off campus dining option is either a fast food chain or a greasy restaurant in general.

Health & Safety:
Light poles and "on campus security" – If you take a tour at OSU, the tour guides will try to preach to you about how the safety poles are such a resource and how the "escort service" will pick up your son or daughter at any time...this is absolutely untrue. The most dangerous parts of campus (behind classroom buildings, next to the stadium) have minimal lighting or none at all, and no light poles within sight. Lane avenue residence hall residents have to walk through some of the darkest parts of campus just to get home every night. What poles campus does have, many of them are non-functioning (which is only designated by a garbage bag over the top of them). What's worse, you have to "book" the escort service ahead of time. Meaning, if you find yourself stranded on Carmack with no way home, the party girls who "reserved" the escort service last week are going to be taken home while you, the responsible student who did not plan to go binge drinking, are stuck on the other side of the city with poor lighting and a long walk.

Pros and Cons – Campus housing is pretty decent, in comparison to other dorms I've stayed in before. I currently live in Morrill Tower and will do so again in 2011-2012. The biggest problem I have is how far from classes the towers are; especially in the winter, when the cold wind is blowing in your face and you have semi-permanent wind burn on your skin. I have heard horror stories about some of the other dorms, especially on south campus, so I give campus housing a B overall. A for the towers (unless you're in a quad, then it sucks), C- for anywhere else. Also, there are 6 suites of 9-10 people on each floor. So roughly 60 or so per floor, the tower itself holds upwards of one thousand.
