There is great diversity in age, gender, as well as race. The university offers several organizations to be a member of depending on what interests you.

Always Something Going on Within Your Department – Ohio State University is a very active and involved school. There is always something going on that is sure to grab your interest within your department. It has several excellent facilities and clubs where students can meet a diverse group of people.

Recession? Not for the Towing Companies – Parking on campus is entirely a nightmare if you are not aware of the side streets and areas that do not require a permit. There are parking garages on campus, but for a student, the fees are outrageously high. The whole area is teeming with tow trucks and meter cops prowling the area for violators. I believe it is easier to just not have a car on campus.

On Ohio State Campus, the Greek culture is largely tied into Ohio State Football mania. The Greek housing available is seen to the rest of campus (and Columbus) as the "party zone" where you want to avoid on any weekend night, especially in football season.

Food Places – Columbus offers a wide variety of very expensive to very cheap dining. I suggest The Melting Pot

When did use off campus housing, it was an extention of the dorm life, sheer partying, beer cans everywhere, loud music, landlords unwilling to maintain their property and unaccessable during the weekend. Now as I drive around the same areas, there has not been much change, other than the revamping of area businesses, which now encourage underage drinking, and a party atmosphere. The main difference, these new business are within walking distance of the apartments. Prices are ridiculous, for the space and locations, which is one reason why so many apartments are for 6 people or more. When I lived off campus, I wished I had remained in the dorms, it was so bad.

Sports Are Top-Notch – Varsity sports at Ohio State are pretty huge, especially the way campus treats us. We have wonderful training and workout facilities, including our own trainers, psychologists, and academic advisers. IM sports are pretty huge, too, because anyone can play. We have some pretty diverse ones, too, though I’m not really sure how popular inner tube water polo is.

Health & Safety:
Over All Safe – There are some places on campus where you don't feel as safe as other place. But that is why you should always travel around with someone else and you do not have to worry as much

There Is a Lot of Crime – There are rules but they are not enforced as much as they should be to keep students safe on campus.

Labs Are Available All Over but Usually Crowded – The computer labs are usually pretty crowded but there are plenty of computers. The library is the only place that could use more computers and possibly its own computer lab.

While commuters may grip about paying $90 a year to park on campus, the price is worth it in my opinion. The only downside is that you are 30 min walking distance from main campus. The plus side is that there is a regular busing service to take you from the lot to campus.

Drug Scene Is Out of Sight, Alcohol Not So Much – To be honest I've never even heard of drug abuse on campus, but that may just be me. Alcohol however is running rampant. If there's are party there is like some form of it present.

Something for Everyone – There are all kinds of people here at OSU, and with them all kinds of beliefs and perspectives. While the majority of the college is white, there are plenty of other ethnic groups represented as well. The only down side that I can see is that there is a monopoly in the religion department, with Christianity taking top spot.

High Street Is the Place to Be – No matter where you go on High St. you can always find the restaurant you want. From fast food to in-house dinning, there is everything you could possibly want. The prices are to be expected, but there are always discounts to be had for students. The Eddie George's Bar and Grill is an especially hot place for gatherings during Football Saturday.

Condom Club, Mirror Lake and Research Opportunities – What a combination right? Well the Condom Club is a program at the RPAC's Wellness Center that is focused on safe sex on campus and provides members with 50 condoms for $5 after successful completion of a short condom use information session.
After joining the Condom Club you can get yourself hyped up for the Michigan football game in November. The most popular and traditional way to do this is to jump into Mirror Lake the Thursday before the football game, even if the lake has a layer of ice on it.
However, after all the fun there are plenty of opportunities to gain important research experience by applying for the many Research Internships on campus, crucial for anyone who would like to pursue a graduate degree.

Guys & Girls:
Incredible Variety – Ohio State's size results in incredible diversity, there are students from all around the world at this school and tons of pretty people everywhere you look. If you're looking to meet people with similar interests then you must join a few of our student organizations, there are over 900 by the way, that cater to practically any interest. Meeting people is definitely not an issue here at Ohio State.

One of the Largest Majors – Psychology is consistently one of the largest majors here at Ohio State so the program receives a pretty good amount of funding which allows Psych majors to enjoy certain perks. For example, all declared Psych majors at Ohio State have access to the Psychology Building's computer lab and are also given 75 free prints from that lab. Psychology majors also receive $1000 toward any study abroad program they are a part of, even if the program is not related to the major. Also, Psychology Grad Students at Ohio State do not have to pay tuition and may even receive teaching positions at the University during their Graduate studies, a major plus of the Psychology program.

I really enjoy living at Morrison Hall at OSU. I think that the bathrooms really need an upgrade but overall the set up is really nice. You are close enough to everything on campus and you get to know who you are living with in the hall

Variety of Capums Food – The variety of food on campus is good enough that your are content but the variety could be better. Many of the places on cmpus to eat serve almost the same things and the food gets really old fast.
