How to Get to the Airport
College Prowler Take
The general feeling is that the bus lines (COTA and CABS) are dependable. Some students have negative attitudes toward these services, perhaps because of the occasional delays that do happen; overall, though, the buses are reliable if you allow enough extra time. The COTA buses are one of the most useful transit options available to students. While you can usually walk anywhere on campus, making CABS service somewhat redundant, the COTA buses can open up areas of Columbus that you may otherwise not get to explore.
At first, the city buses can seem a little intimidating. Some students are afraid of the “scary” sorts of people that frequently use the system, and there’s no denying that this element takes some getting used to. Where else will you meet these great, larger-than-life characters, though? Once you’ve ridden enough to get past the initial jitters, you’ll be fine; the usefulness of the bus system makes it worthwhile. The #2 bus is the main line used to move students back and forth through Columbus, and the #84 takes students back to the Lennox and is also frequented by students. Make sure you catch the correct bus back to OSU, however; if you take the wrong one, it will loop far west before it gets to campus, and your trip will take well over an hour. Until you’re sure of the schedules, stay in an area that you can walk back from—it’s not hard to do around campus.

On-campus transportation is pretty good. There are buses running all week, at most hours. As for off campus, the city buses are somewhat unreliable. I don’t use them that much, because I usually walk or drive. We don’t have a subway or train system, although it would be nice! |

I would never use the bus system—there’s a bunch of nasty people who use them. It’s so gross that it makes me sick just thinking about it. |

The COTA line goes to Easton and even all the way to the airport. Make sure you get a pamphlet that shows you their specific routes because the last thing you want to do is get lost in them. |

The CABS line is primarily used around campus—just in case you need to get all the way to the other side of campus early in the morning. |
