College Prowler Take
Many students’ friends have been in awe of the amount of attractive people attending Ohio University. Students from other campuses have been known to shout out in bars, “Everyone here is hot!” and it’s certainly not an alcohol-induced statement. There are very attractive people at this school, and to make it even better, people are generally really friendly, outgoing, and relationship-worthy. While a fair share of jerks are thrown into the mix, students agree that both sexes are cool and even game for a serious relationship. Certainly alcohol can act as both a fuel for the stereotypical college hookup and a propellant of machoism in some guys. It’s not hard to meet people at OU on a friendly or romantic level, as long as you do your part as well. In general, OU students are accepting, friendly, and easy to get along with. The overall happiness of the students is one of the best things about OU—few people leave without a handful of best friends they’ve had since their freshman or sophomore years (and maybe even a significant other). Just keep in mind that whatever kind of relationship you may be after, it is, like in any other place, a two-way street. Students Speak Out

I would say I had just as many guy...
I would say I had just as many guy friends as girl friends at OU. So the guy situation, for the most part, was good. Of course, I did run into a few jerks along the way. |

I hung out with many guys and girls and was fortunate enough to get along with everyone I came across. The girls at OU are especially nice. I was fortunate enough to see some of the most beautiful girls on this campus and will eventually end up marrying one of them, who also happens to be the author of this book. |

The guys are hot and the girls are cute, but that’s definitely no indication of relationship potential. I have tons of friends who met guys/girls at OU that they totally fell in love with and will most likely end up marrying. I personally have not had that experience, and I’ve had bad luck dating guys on campus, but that’s not to say you can’t find someone wonderful. Lots of my really close friends already have. |

Social Scene
Students at OU are definitely outgoing and love to party. Cheap beer usually serves as a highlight of social gatherings; and though OU has since dropped from Playboy's list of top party schools, you wouldn't know it from being on campus on a Friday night. The main party streets (Court, Congress, Mill, Palmer) are packed, as well as the bars. But, even if partying isn't your thing, there are always people who share your interests—there's even a group of girls who meet at a coffeehouse to knit! It appears that no one has a hard time finding his or her niche at OU; one just has to take the initiative and seek it out.
Hookups or Relationships?
Depending on whom you ask, both hookups and relationships seem to rule the dating scene. While there are tons of happy couples holding hands and strolling down Court Street, there is also an equal amount of students on the hook-up prowl, which is obvious from the number of people who routinely take the dreaded "walk of shame" on Sunday mornings.
Best Places to Meet Guys/Girls
Bars and parties are the top places to meet hotties, but classes and even working out in the Ping can prove to be a great way to meet someone.
Dress Code
When it comes to dressing at OU, anything goes. Preppy, trendy, skater, and Goth looks can all be seen while walking down Court Street, as well as the occasional mohawk and guy wearing a skirt. While the last two examples are somewhat few and far between, it's safe to say that students feel free to express themselves on campus by wearing anything and everything.
