This school offers many opportunities to expand my ideas related to my career. The teachers are more than willing to help me with my necessities and help me pass their course. I have a good studying environment to prepare for upcoming tests.

The most popular scholarships are academic scholarships. I attend from out of state so I am unaware and ineligible for other scholarships unlike the students that are from West Virginia.

Clubbing and Parties Are FORBIDDEN – If you are a student at OVU, due to the beliefs of the school, no one is to attend any bars, clubs and/or parties. However, that does not mean the rules are not broken. If you are caught you may be expelled but the most common punishment is suspension from campus.
College Senior 2012-06-28T15:47:12Z
Very Strict on Alcohol and Illegal Drugs – There is no drinking allowed nor is the use of drugs tolerated on or off campus. If anyone is caught the penalty is suspension and/or expulsion. This includes students that are of age to drink.

Very Bland, Rude and Repetitive – The choices of food were repetitive. I would have liked to not know what I was going to eat on Monday ahead of time. The staff was also very rude! I dreaded eatting in the cafe and I often times bought TV dinners to eat in my dorm because the food had no taste.

The parking lots are easily found, and there is plenty of room for the students, but sometimes you have to park faraway. People visiting campus may have problems finding a spot.

You Better Have Your Own Car! If you don't have your own car then you are pretty much screwed at OVU. There is no form of public transportation around the school.
College Junior 2012-03-29T04:26:15Z
The nightlife is pretty boring at OVU because we have a curfew if you are under the age of 21 or are an underclassman. There is really not much to do around the school.
College Junior 2012-03-29T04:22:06Z
The dining hall at OVU is actually pretty gross!!! Most of the time there is nothing good to eat, and if there is it is all carbs.I feel like we should have more options other than burnt pizza or dried out french fries. Sometimes there are a few good things, but i get tired of having the same thing over and over again.

Horrible, DO NOT ATTEND – The students here are VERY immature and constantly fight amongst each other. There is a Facebook and twitter page where the students can write how they feel about other students and the school in general. There are MANY offending statements on these websites, and there is something about everyone written on them. There are never any deans or office workers available when you call. They are never in their office and it is a life or death situation trying to get a hold of them. The academics here at OVU are poor, and the athletes are over appreciated and appraised, even when in the wrong. Most students smoke, drink, and even have sex on the campus (even when the invisible deans say it is not allowed). Overall, I have had a very poor experience at this 'college' and I do not recommend this school to ANYONE. Please, do yourself a favor and do not attend this school. You will be out $20,000-$25,000 and all you will have left will be hatred for this school and the people here.

don't consider ovu – this school is a joke, they act like they are so good because they are a christian university but in reality its the worst school i've ever seen or heard of. the classes don't teach you anything and the teachers don't seem qualified to teach. i had a writing class where we didn't even talk about writing the whole semester. he told us all of our assignments in the syllabus were due at the end of the semester and i asked for help several times and never got any answers i needed. also, the basketball players are favorited and don't ever get in trouble for anything such as failing drug tests. they still get to play no matter what. you can never get a hold of the dean who is supposed to be there to help you. nobody is ever in their office. the cafeteria has horrible food that hardly anybody likes. most of the time, i feel nauseous after eating in there. they fine you for everything they possibly can. such as having your door unlocked and being asleep for room checks. this school is not good and if you go here or plan to, good luck. i wish i would have never even considered this school.

The weather is ok. When its hot it is hot, when it is cold, it is somewhat cold. IF snow is bad, classes are cancelled. Classes are not at all far from dorms or off campus. The Janitors always clear snow if needed and so on.

True Fighting Scots – The sports program is very good. The only downfall is not enough funding for better facilities. There is definetly loads of school spiril and good team performance and student involvements.

Good and up to Date – The dining hall areas are very comfortable and nice. The food selection of foods is delicious. There is eat as much as you like criteria, which is good.
However, foods on weekends could be better, because food can be dull and left overs (from week).

There aren't many computers at Ohio Valley University, and with that said, more than half of them are not functional. The internet isn't reliable, is always slow, and is almost always down. Printing is a hassle, as there aren't many public printers, and they're frequently out of ink or paper. A personal computer and printer is highly recommended.

First of all, you always want to look around for outside scholarships and such. You don't want to pay a ton out of pocket. Once you talk to the financial aid team, they can assist you in finding more money and are always trying to help you. They don't want you to worry about your bill and are always just a phone call away.

There is much to eat in the cafeteria. There are many selections but some don't appeal to us all. A huge problem that they are having now is seating. Many of the students love to socialize while eating.

When I first arrived to the campus, I thought that it would be necessary to have a laptop and printer on hand. But that is not the case at the school. There is plenty available in the library and computer lab. I am very impressed with how much the college helps the students to ensure they have computers to work with.

Although I haven't started yet, I've been going to OVU for a few years now for various church things. I've met so many people that I already love, and I'm really excited to get there and start learning. There is so much to do around OVU and so many nice people who love and care about you, no matter what. I really cannot wait until I start there in a week and a half!

OVU's Strictness Policy – The campus is very strict, mostly because it's a Christian school. They have rules on drugs, alcohol, and sex (obviously), but also on things like attendance of chapel, and cerfew. When you want to go somewhere to stay the night/weekend (like, going home), you have to sign out with the college, and sign in when you get back. Students aren't allowed to sign out to houses or apartments of single students of the opposite sex for the night.

Dining at OVU – The dining hall is a great place to get to know people; it's small, but large enough that everyone has room to eat. The food is always really good, too! They also have a Starbucks on campus, which is awesome.

Guys & Girls:
Social Life – Most students here are athletes, meaning that this forms the social groups at Ohio Valley University. A typical day one would notice that most sports teams associate with and around themselves, this goes not to say that the don;t associate with others at all, but for the most part the students surround themselves with people like them or with similar interests.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
